AT in Toronto

This is our second project with Sky Kitchen. We initially had them install an entertainment unit in our basement and cabinets under the basement stairs. They did a great job that a few years we decided to use them again to install a home office and upgrade an area in our kitchen. Binder was our contact for both projects and helped us design the office and kitchen at their showroom. His team (Dharmindar and Giil) did a great job of installing everything over two days. We weren't too happy with the colour of the desktop and there were a few other minor finished that need to be completed. Binder quickly had his crew pick up the desktop and have it repainted and fix the minor areas. We have some other built-ins in mind and would definitely use Sky Kitchen again.

I called DrainCom for an estimate to waterproof our basement following the July 8 storm. Carl came to the house and took a look at the problem. I had a previous quote for another company but Carl said what they proposed would not work and explained the reasons why. The explanation made sense and his quote was cheaper than all of the other quotes that I received. During the work, Boris and his crew (Sasha and Denis) were clean, very professional and efficient. I was impressed by the fact that at the end of each day, they cleaned up not only the work area but the areas that they came into the house as well as the backyard deck. Boris provided me with updates during the work, which I greatly appreciated. A Holmes on Homes type of issue was encountered during the job and Carl came immediately to the site. He gave me several options and price points but would not bias my decision. I asked him "What would you do" and he said "It's your house, my opinion would influence your decision". Very refreshing to hear that since I'm pretty sure other contractors would tell you to go with the most expensive option. Boris and his crew finished the work earlier than expected, which worked out well since another contractor was coming the next day to do the renovation. Boris showed me all the work that was done, explained how the sump pump and backup pump worked and provided suggestions on how to renovate. Will have to wait until the next rainstorm to see if it all works but they also provide a 25 year guarantee. These guys are good. I highly recommend them.

We had Vince come to paint the first floor of our home (approximately 800 sq feet). He initially came and gave us a quote for painting only but also mentioned that he could fix the baseboards since I had torn them up to fish some speaker wire through but didn't know how to put them back properly. I didn't do a very good job at rearranging the furniture for him to work but Vince said it was no problem and was able to work around everything without any damage. As he worked, I added a few more areas for him to paint and he said no problem. You can tell that he really prides himself on the work he does since he doesn't but any corners in order to ensure that a proper job is done. He did a great job on the walls, baseboards, stairs and 2nd floor hallway (added areas). It took him about 2.5 days to do the job, which was well within the estimated time. In addition, the added cost for the extra areas for painting wasn't too much more than the quote. I would definitely use Vince again for future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
