Dave Marcotte was one of 6 potential contractors for this work. He was highly recommended by an independent engineer we consulted for unrelated work. Dave's quote was not the lowest, but it was highly competitive and MUCH lower than the 2-3 most expensive quotes. His upfront assessment, communications and follow-up were superior to the other contractors, and he spent as much time as necessary to make us feel comfortable with the nuances of the work, the alternative approaches to solving our issues, and the rationale for his recommendations. Importantly, after we had made a booking for some months in advance (he's busy, because he's in demand, because he's good), Dave called personally a week in advance to confirm the work, and then he and his crew showed up on time, as planned. The crew was headed by Dave personally (he drove the digger) and they took great care to protect our property while also getting the job done right. For the duration of our job, we were the sole focus of the team, which was a plus: this was OUR slot, not to be distracted by competing priorities. The work was done on time, at a high quality, with our input throughout, and exactly on budget. We could not have asked for a more positive experience. I hope to never excavate a foundation again, but if I do I plan to call Dave Marcotte to do the work.
