As part of home renovations, I changed my windows to have better insulation in the winter. Figured that keeping the blinds wouldn't look so nice so I decided on shutters. A friend of mine actually told me about Universal Window Coverings. He had just got his shutters installed and showed them to me in his home. I decided to go check it out, and I was surprised to see the different amount of shutters. There were ones where all flaps needed to be manually moved, and ones where a stick was attached to them to move all of them at same time and one's with the mechanism hidden within. I ended up going with the one with the hidden mechanism. Might as well pay a little more for a nicer looking shutter to go with my brand new windows. I would definitely recommend this store to everyone. The owner of the store was very friendly and came to do all the measurements for my house on his own to make sure they were correct. I had previously told him about my paranoia because the workers who changed my windows had some incorrect measurements and a couple of windows that were made were too small. So to calm the nerves, he came to my house to measure it personally.

Wanted to decorate my garden. Which is something that I do annually. This year, I pulled out some of the old shrubs that were getting boring and decided to plant some roses. I like Sheridan cause of their guarantees and insurance with plants. I pretty sure it's the same with many nurseries but Sheridan is one of the greatest places to shop if you want to decorate your garden. It's huge, and has such a wide selection. The staff are pretty helpful if you can find the experienced ones. Some of them are obviously summer students and don't have as much knowledge in the different plants and shrubs they sell. I planted the roses in my garden and I'm starting to see some budding going on! One rose popped out last week but got killed during the large rain storm on Friday. I will have to keep a close look on my plant and hopefully won't have to put this insurance policy to the test.

Bought a nice sealy mattress this past week. The sales were very helpful in the store, didn't mind me trying every single mattress they had. Did not get annoyed that I was asking all these questions about coils and materials. They were generally very helpful in aiding me with my mattress search. In terms of shipping the mattress to my house, they were very willing to accommodate for my schedule. I can't take days off work to wait for a mattress to come in, they arranged for delivery people to give me notifications closer to the time that they would arrive so that I could slip out of work for a bit to let them deliver in the mattress. I am excited to sleep on this new mattress!

My mom wanted a new couch and has really expensive taste. I bring her to Tendex as they are well known for shipping european furniture into Canada to sell at unbelievably expensive prices. The sales was very friendly and nice. I had the feeling that he was not whole heartedly kind as I did not look like the type that could afford a couch there. In any case, I bought a couch from the store because it was actually amazingly comfortable. In addition, the design was extremely clever. I would recommend this store if you have a lot of money and want to have some clever furniture in your home.

I originally wanted to purchase shrubs from the nursery for my flowerbed. However there was nothing that I really liked there so I ended up just purchasing a couple of those seasonal flowers. It is quite unfortunate that White Rose isn't as good as it used to be. Employees seemed rather clueless when I was trying to describe the type of shrub I was looking for. The selection of shrubs were also very small. I ended up just picking some seasonal flowers. I figure I made the trip all the way to Newmarket, so might as well buy something. Will probably stick to Sheridan in the future.

I went to go get some nice shrubs for my flowerbed out in my front yard. I wanted some easy to take care of shrubs that would look nice and not grow to be too large. This place is usually extremely packed so you get little to no service. Despite their lack of service, they are always able to attract so many customers. I don't blame them because they have got one of the largest selection of plants to decorate your garden with from flowers to shrubs to trees. I guess not having service wasn't that big of deal as I was able to roam around freely picking out the shrubs that I wanted. I ended up with two little spruces and two plants called magic carpet. They are not too large. The magic carpet is my favourite because it has a different colour in each season!

My house is about 25 years old, so I finally decided to repaint the house. Walked into Benjamin Moore looking for some nice quality paints. It is unfortunate that my husband only likes shades of white/beige colours for interiors. We basically had choices between different whites and beiges which was extremely boring in my opinion. However, this Benjamin Moore experience taught me a lot about painting. I spoke to a a customer service representative by the name of Cheryl. Cheryl helped me pick out suitable brushes, rollers, primer and paints for my house. I didn't even that paint used in your rooms were different from paint used in your kitchen/eating area. It was an overall fun and enjyoable experience

They had a lot of colours for me to choose from which is awesome. I don't really like to have dramatic change in my house so I did want to keep the colour of my garage the same as before. After looking through 50 billion shades of a buttermilk/cream type of colour for paint, I got some help from a sales to better direct me what would be a more suitable paint for outdoors. The young lady did an awesome job of explaining to me what each one would turn out like and which one would be more suitable for my garage. Ended up picking a colour called buttermilk, looks fantastic on my garage door.

My garage door recently broke. The only way to get my car out was to open it manually, and for a girl, it is quite the difficult task. I make it all the way to Canadian Tire in hopes to repair it or get a new one. The customer service representative, Frank, was very helpful. He explained to me what I could do if I wanted to repair it and what my options were if I were to get a new one. I ended up deciding on a new one since I probably would be causing more trouble if I tried to fix it. Frank helped me pick out a simple to install and use garage door opener. I never thought it would be that easy to set everything up on my own. I got it done now and so far it's been 2 months and the garage door is running smoothly.

The sales were really nice in terms of describing each toilet to me and which ones would be the ones I would choose if I wanted the GST credit. I've honestly never purchased toilets before and did not know there was so many different models that you could choose from. The sales was very patient and helped me understand the functions of each toilet. I ended up picking a Kohler model. The installation I was able to do on my own after instruction from one of the helpful workers at the Home Depot. I was surprised I was able to get it done on my own. Now I have 3 nice new toilets sitting in my house with a GST credit I look forward to. The price in my opinion was not too expensive, I felt like I did start to save some money when looking at my hydro bills.
