Beware of this builder !!!

Purchased this property since 2015 . The builder has reached its outside occupancy date. To date , no word and cooperation from the builder if occupancy will be delivered on time considering the predicaments us purchasers are in. Which they were well made aware of . We are expected to ocuppy in 7 days and no attempts were made to notify us of such delays and not even a PDI has been scheduled . No postal code has been registered for our unit according to Canada Post. In order for us to satisfy interim occupancy requirement, we are required to obtain home insurance but it is not possible to do so if the builder and their lawyer has failed to provided us with a valid postal code . No known occupancy permit by the city has been issued and this whole process has been quite disturbing and questions the integrity of this builder. In addition to concerns about the safety of our unit in the condition the builder expects us to move in .

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER

We had very good people at the design center but that where all the good things ended. Construction was delayed many times. After closing, a lot of major deficiencies (i.e. kitchen) still persisted. The customer service manager was a polite person, but he coerced us to waive our Tarion Warranty by saying he would go "above and beyond". DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP. This was the biggest mistake we made. He was good at sending a handyman to do touch-up job, but for jobs that needed other trades, such as windows, cabinets, he provided very slow and frustrating services. When he toured the house to go over the deficiencies, he attempted to go over our head not knowing that I am handyman. When we confronted him, he provided very lame excuse. One year after closing, our house still had a lot of deficiencies. When we visited the head office, the staff who came out to speak to us would not sit down to talk to you although there are nice and comfortable couches there. It seemed to us they did not want to this was a tactic that would help shoo us out of their office. Please do not buy from this builder.

Yorkton Home

When required to extend closing date beyond legal limits their memos became spattered with "Mutually Acceptable" clauses and if you disagreed they deemed you in violation. Shady practice in obtaining occupancy certificate and retaining upgrade monies even though upgrades were never installed. My view of the situation is obviously in contention with that of Kylemore and thus legal action is the result.

new house

we bought a home from kylemore in jan,2006 and closed the house in feb.2007.It has been a nightmare for us rather than a dream come true. This company didn't give us any customer service except that the customer service manager is fairly polite, but he also doesn't reply to calls and e-mails very quickly.
We had a problem with our tub when we closed the house and wanted to speak to them(Kylemore) but nobody returned our calls until we e-mail them with the attention to our lawyer and Tarion and also the home builder's assn. of Canada. We had to go through all that to be heard. Also,we feel that Kylemore build our house in a hurry and the price that we paid,we shouldn't have a house that is leaking from the ceiling in 9 months time, worst thing is that they take forever to fix things for us and sometimes they don't even reply to us for a LONG time.
