Avoid at all costs
I wrote this last year. I thought Id take some time and wait to see how I felt at the beginning of this year, and its the same feeling, if not worse. I cannot stress enough to avoid this company at all costs. Even if you have paid your deposit, walk away!!! Weve never had a pool before, we trusted them and we relied on them to guide us through the process and help us with some obviously big decisions. BIG MISTAKE! Our initial meeting went very well. They sounded like they knew what they were doing with the planning of the pool, shape, where to be placed to maximize our grass area. Offered to order our pool kit early to avoid price increases, and the family type business appealed to us. I thought we did our due diligence in selecting a pool company. In hindsight, hiring Splash Pools to do our pool was the WORST decision we have ever made. Poor to zero communication throughout the process. As a result of this terrible communication, we now have aspects of the pool area that are absolutely dreadful. The pool itself could have been and should have been bigger. Tim and JP both like playing the blame game. Oh, I dont know about that, thats JP and vice versa. I have different stamped and different coloured concrete from our walkway to our pool area because they did the pours in different days. JP couldnt even help us with a liner selection because he has no opinion because hes colour blind. We had to spend over 10K more afterwards to put a retaining wall in around the pool, in order to get the grass area around the pool level. Due to their poor or zero communication/explanation, we did not realize in order to achieve what we wanted, we needed a retaining wall of some sort. After speaking to the landscaping team that eventually completed our project, there was more than one option for the entire pool and Splash should have gone through the many options with us, but they did not. The retaining wall has been completed after the pool installation. It was more expensive to complete afterwards due to the additional manual labour, I lost more yard area and Im now have an aesthetic around my pool that I did not want and unfortunately going to have to live with forever. Knowing that we were unhappy, they still had no care for their job and they did a terrible job drilling holes in our concrete for the winter cover. No mention to us to move our furniture and they were covered with mud and dirt afterwards and they did not clean it up. This was a colossal 80K mistake, I wish I could take back. I wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy!
