Horrible,stressful experience
When I hired Terry I gave him a 50% deposit He took me photo shopping which I thought was strange. The day he started he approached me for 25% more which I really didnt like. A week in his worker asked me for money because he wasnt being paid. During this time Terry was harassing me for more money also. I ended up having to pay for everything and I took it off at the end but the asking never stopped it was very stressful. Terry informed me he wasnt paying his worker anymore for being at my place so now I had him. He could even put fixtures up. So I didnt get as per contract my door moved, my light moved, paint, primer, pot lights. Instead of pot lights I bought a replacement fan and the wire. He tried to charge me for the wire I paid for and said fan was a favour. In the end I owed $100 with me being generous as I did the painting, most of sanding and paid for tarps and such He started non stop texting my daughter for me to give him more money I was paid in full and now left with a towel hook coming off the wall, no floor transitions, and a slanted wall that needed mud and sanding as well as big gaps in flooring. When I contacted him he said he would stop buy then offered to pay someone to do it and sent me a fake e transfer. Did I mention Im a senior woman, with a brain tumour and aneurysm and was about to go for radiation and this was added stress

Hi Cindy,
I wanted to give you ample time to edit or remove your review without me asking but it would seem that isn't going to happen.Firstly, I am so sorry you felt compelled to post a review that isn't great. I really did only want to do the best for you and get you a safe and functional space for your post health recovery.
I wanted to clear up a few things in regards
To your review from my perspective, so any potential clients can understand my side of the review. In regard to the original sign up on the agreement, I do request 50% as a down payment/deposit. I don't think that is out of the norm for any contractor as I have to be able to purchase the materials, get started etc. the main issue is that the deposit of the amount that was agreed on (my fault and not yours) didn't cover the materials in any regards. So when we started the process, I did request the second instalment at job start so I could get started with the team.
I am a small business and I have definitely had bumps in the road and I have learned along the way. I have changed my payment schedule, made critical employee changes and have learned from every mistake that was made. I can't apologize enough to you for any stress that was added to you and I truly only meant to have you a perfect space and be there for you during your difficult health crisis.
As for photo shopping, I don't think that is strange at all. I want to send clients images of idea and see what their vision is and work with that. You and I went shopping for item multiple times together in store and picked out what you liked together as well. I will always want to help with item picking and take the stress of getting the materials to the customers home on myself. Again, if this all seemed strange, I apologize.
For the fixes and work you did, I expressly asked you to not miss any appointments or do anything in the space and I could do it. You (rightfully so) wanted to get the space done so you painted and did some sanding. That would normally be a great help but the actual mudding and sanding was not done when you did paint so rework had to be done and it never was completely complete to what the standard should be.
As mentioned, I was alone at the end as I had to make employee changes based on what transpired throughout your project but that only made me want to make the space better for you.To be clear, the space is gorgeous, functional and looks perfect (less a couple of small issues). In regard to the corrections, the very last time I was in your space, you were happy and we walked around and you had mentioned your friend was going to do the transitions. Then when a final payment came up, you got very upset with me and blocked me. Asking me previously to contact your daughter for payment, I did that. I never intended to harass anyone about funds. I messaged her twice explaining the situation and giving my perspective. You then messaged me saying you'd pay (less than owed but that is fine as I told your daughter, I didn't want you upset and you didn't have to pay anything if you felt you didn't owe) and then you requested me to not contact you. And with your health recovery ongoing, I didn't contact you, assuming all was good. Two weeks ago, you messaged me saying there were issues. And at that time, I was completely happy to finish them. Unfortunately, I had two immediate family members pass away and that took presidencies over work. I let you know what was happening and then offered to give you some funds to correct the issues you have, you said ok and I then sent a transfer to your account on the Friday (your deadline). I then heard from you saying I didn't send it or sent a fake one and insulting me professionally and personally over text. I sent photo proof of the transfer and you still said it was fake. Then as I was calling the bank, you said you got it. I apologized for it taking so long to transfer but I can't control the banks and then came to
See you blocked my number after saying you got it.The review isn't as upsetting as knowing how close we were, talking about life, watching your sweet puppy during your appointments, offering to help personally with anything you may need, going shopping and eating together etc etc. I considered you essentially family so it definitely hurt to know how upset and angry you were.
That being said, I am so sorry you're
Not completely happy with everything. I hope the transfer I sent can get the issues corrected and if you need anything or there's any issues, I will always be available to you via call, text or email. I really wish you nothing but the best and I hope your health is recovering amazing and you're bouncing back quickly.
