Great porch repair completed at our cottage
We contacted Desjardins Masonry to repair a concrete block cellar wall that was holding up the front concrete slab porch at our cottage. Over the years, the corner had sunk and there were cracks in the concrete block mortar. As well the front facing side had a brick veneer which would have to be removed for the repair. The team showed up on time, shored up the sinking corner, removed all the concrete block and replaced with new block to properly support the corner. As well, they called me to show me that the porch concrete slab wasn't properly supported and attached to the cottage foundation when it was built in the 1970s. They installed 5 concrete block piers, with rebar, to support and fix the slab to the cottage foundation. They replaced all the front facing brick and the job looks fantastic! It should last another 100 years. Before and after photos are included.
