#1- When we purchased our door we were told it would be installed in 2-3 months. We had to pay a 50% NONREFUNDABLE deposit so we couldnt cancel our order.
#2- After waiting 6 months, we called them & they said our door was ready but we had to pay the balance owing BEFORE it was installed which is not normal practice. If you pay before an installation, and there is a problem, you have no leverage. They have your money.
#3- When we finally had an installation day, they gave us the last appointment of the day (between
3:00 and 5:00) Knowing human nature, we tried to move it to an earlier timeslot because we knew they would be rushing the job to get home, but they would not let us change the time! Our suspicions were accurate because they showed
up at 4:00 and installed the door in one hour just as it was getting dark. ( a door installation should normally take 3 hours! ) Rush job!
#4- They broke our outside light fixture carrying in the door.
#5- When they drilled holes in the top of the door frame, they used BEIGE colored plugs to fill the holes that keep falling out because they dont fit properly!
(Our door is BLACK!!)
#6- When they attached the inside trim to the wall, they split the trim piece.
#7- Two pieces of inside trim do not line up properly.
#8- The top of the inside top trim piece is all mangled. ( probably didnt think we would notice that)
#9- They didnt want to open a new tube at the end of the day, so they put a thick blob of OUTSIDE caulking along the inside base of the door and in the crack where they had to cut our ceramic tile to fit in the door, on the INSIDE of our front hallway. Outside caulking is highly TOXIC ! It states right on the tube that it is NOT to be used indoors without a lot of ventilation. The door was installed a few days before Christmas (the day before the bad winter blizzard we just had). We could not open any windows without letting snow and freezing temperatures into the house. We had to leave heavy plastic sheeting
( and an air cleaner) up for 6 days including Christmas Day, in the front hall. It took my husband three days to DIG OUT all the poisonous caulking from around the inside base of the door and in the floor. All you could smell were toxic fumes on the main floor! I am a lung cancer survivor and my husband has asthma!!!! When we finally got hold of someone, after several unanswered calls, they had said we had to leave the toxic caulking in for three weeks so it could harden and that they would send someone to fix the problem after that. We have not had anyone return our phone calls, or send anyone to fix the problems and NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE!#10- They also scuffed up the trim around the door trying to fix the drill holes.
#11-We were told we would receive our warranty as soon as we paid in full. We have never received that either, although based on their zero customer service, it wont be worth the paper it's on.

Approximate cost of services:
$6,500.00
