I had the feeling I wasn't dealing with a plumbing company but rather a jobber. By this I mean the installer arrived to do the job but needed to assess the materials needed. It was like they arrive, assess, leave and get the materials to return and do the job. Most plumbers would have things like basic pipe and fittings in their truck. The fellow who did the install had none of that - not even plumbers putty in his bag.
That said, the job was done well and at a price that was reasonable. It just left me a little nervous that I wasn't really dealing with a ticketed plumber. Cash, cheque, e-transfer accepted but no Visa or M/C.
