Staff was great but the measures must have been wrong as a big gap was left on one side of the door between the wall and the frame. Caulking was grossly applied in order to cover the gap. Top plate not matching the door color. The glass insert has smudges on the inside. Quite disappointed.
Answer to the company reply.
The door was installed on January 27 and the caulking replaced in June. Immediately after the installation I notified your sales representative by text, (and sent pictures). Your salesperson confirmed with me by text that the caulking was not done properly. He noted that the bright red caulking used was the wrong colour not match with the burgundy. He confirmed that the caulking would be replaced. Company sent two options for me to choose from. The bright red colour that was already applied or a darker red colour that was closer to the door colour. So in reality there were no options offered. I either stayed with the bright red or change it to the darker red. Your company removed and replace part of the original caulking in April but advised that I had to wait few more weeks for the caulking to fully dry in order to be removed and replaced completly. When the caulking was removed, it peeled the paint from the top metal plate that was a perfect match with the door.
In June your company sent 2 boys to remove and replace the rest of the original caulking. The replacement metal plate they brought was a very different shade of red to the door. I called the supervisor at your company and was told that there was nothing they could do. The original metal plate was hand painted to match the door. The replacement metal plate you purchase from suppliers do not come in a burgundy colour. This was very frustrating. The boys applied the right color caulking however it was again applied in very thick and uneven waves. It was at this time that they advised that the caulking was grossly applied because the gap between the door frame and the wall was too big. One side of the door had a small gap between the door frame and the wall. The other side of the door had a large gap between the door frame and the wall. They explained that the reason the caulking was applied grossly was to mask the measurement error.
I have attached pictures with the original red caulking and the current caulking. You can see how smooth was applied on one side and how grossly and wavy on the other side. The only way to fix this is to order a new wider door which your company is not intrested in doing so.
