Y & Y Builds

I hired Y & Y Builds to install an egress window at my house. Joseph was very responsive and explained the work that was going to be done. His crew showed up on schedule and completed the work as intended. I am very happy with the work and I would not hesitate to use Joseph and his team for future projects.

I bought an old house which needed major fixes and renovation. The Y&Y Builds was introduced to me by a friend who offered pricing within my budget and finished the project at outstanding pace. They are quite proficient at their job. They helped me in some of tasks that probably does not fall under their expertise. Additionally, they explained the whole process and suggested the right material (as a first time home owner I had no idea) that is long lasting and affordable. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an affordable renovation in the Greater Toronto Area.

Joseph is in his mid 20s, very young, polite and professional. The cost of the project was a little higher than what i have expected, but totally wort it. Me and my wife were really happy to give these young guys a chance.

Painting, repairing, electrical ,plumbing and several other home improvements. Cleaning and removing of debris, garbage and scrap material.

I hired Yusuf and his crew to fix up and paint the walls and to install new flooring in my small condo. Yusuf has a good eye and a good vision for interior design. The color of the walls is beautiful and the finished work looks very professional. I also went with Yusuf's recommendation on the flooring--both the color and the vinyl material-- and I like the choice, as the combination of the colors makes the place look bigger and more open. The flooring was done well, with shoe molding installed between the edges and the baseboards. They did the work efficiently, so it didn't take too many days. After the left, I realized that they had kind of left the flooring unfinished behind the stove, as they had not wanted to damage the cabinet unit (which can't be removed) , but I asked them to come back and finish off with the shoe molding, which they did, and I am very happy with the result. They also did a few other repairs of some cabinet doors. They are hardworking polite and friendly and eager to build a business.

Yousuf and Ali, both pillars of this company had approached us and help us out in renovating our basement. The job was simple to partition a big room and create 3 closets. Later they proposed to install dry wall as well and renovate the room completely. The estimate they gave was nominal as $2250 labour and $2150 materials and a total of 1 week to complete. They did complete, but then there were few problems like they under estimated the materials by $1600 and they took around 3 weeks to complete, but they did work daily as well.

Overall quality of work was also somewhat poor. They told me priming a new dry wall is not needed (which I never expected as initial estimate was to prime and paint as well). They never painted the doors and left them. They left paint and mud stains on the floor and advised us to clean later. They didn't know how to cut a door and kind of messed up the door itself. Taping on the wall and corner is really bad as well and left baseboard in few areas.

The only positive thing I see for them is they are good people and won't leave you in mid of your project. They seem pretty young and new to this field and will mature as they do more jobs. I wish them all the best in their future.

Our architect found the right company for the primary framing, required for the exterior work. Completed on time. Easy to work with. Easy payment program (50% deposit/50% after completion and inspection). We were very pleased with Yusuf and Y&Y Builds.

They did a great job and were responsive and knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you very much!

They came back when requested because we had a problem with the size of some of the blinds. The follow-up work was very good.

Young sub-contractor that I give out my framing jobs to, punctual, honest and humble. Willing to corporate in all means.

I had my engineered hardwood floors installed by another company who did not do a good job. Y&Y came in to remove the flooring without damaging and then do a proper installation. They carefully removed all of my cabinet baseboards to install underneath and I was there watching and could tell how much precision they used. They then reinstalled all of the flooring fixing all of the awful work that had been done before while saving almost all of the original flooring so I did not have to buy anything new. The big difference I noticed with them is their want to make it perfect, they would not be happy unless I was. Highly recommend and will use them again 100%
