Apoena Kitchens

Fabio took over my renovation in the final touches. They finished the reno in May and one week after I sent Fabio a photo of all the things that I was not satisfied with - things that were not in the final list because we only saw them once we moved in. Those things include: doors that don't close (they are bigger than the door jambs), island was installed 2 inches off (not parallel to the kitchen counter and to the floor planks), casings installed unleveled, all of the door strikes were done poorly (they were done without the proper tools - according to Fabio himself they were not up to his standards), paint drops all over the floor, paint all over the hinges, etc. After I sent Fabio photos of some of the work and he agreed they were not his standard, he said he was going to send someone to fix them, since it was part of the guarantee. On June 4th they came over to check on everything that had to be redone. On July 4th I bumped them to see what the plan was and his employee said they could come over on July 23rd and that they would need one day only. One day would not be enough, I made sure to send them all the photos of what had to be done. I had no answer from them for weeks. One day before they were supposed to come Fabio wrote me a very short email saying that the problems were created by my previous contractor (but his team was the one who installed the door jambs, doors, island etc.) and saying he could come the next morning for a 3rd completion list (but this was part of the guarantee like he had mentioned before). I needed more notice than a few hours; I had been trying to contact them for a while and I was pretty frustrated with his email, because instead of apologizing for creating such problems he tried to blame my previous contractor and my husband and I for a 3rd completion list. Today is August 28th and I have no answer from him even after I bumped him twice.

We worked with Fabio as soon as we were in talks about making a home purchase. Due to this he was able to get started on the project the day we got the house keys. He built a comprehensive budget and line item list that showed great transperancy in costs. He offers a good range in product estimates that allows you to make a wide range of selection without exceeding planned budget. He works with some great team members all of whom were polite and friendly and respected our new home.

Fabio was always available for a call and offered input and clarifications when needed. Overall they did a great job inspite of the pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

The only concern I had was with paint spill in certain sections (hardwood and tile), towards the end the team didn't cover corners very well and inspite of them attempting to clean it, there are still spots visible that I can see now and then. I think it was mostly because some remaining tasks were delayed and done after we moved in.

Overall the time taken to complete the entire living room, bathroom, kitchen and mudroom was 2.5 months (not counting the holidays that fell inbetween and adding the pending minor work).

Everyone who has been to our place has only raved about the work and the quality is definitely worth it!

I had my kitchen and entire home renovated by Apoena Kitchens. All of our friends are envious of our kitchen and that's all they talk about. Initially, I had 20 quotes for total home remodel. I made sure I was very informed before I made my final decision. Apoena's price came in mid-range, but their design services and customer service were amazing ! Everyone was very patient and pleasant to work with. I made many changes to the kitchen plans and they obliged every time. Apoena finished the entire home renovation which turned out beautiful. Everything looks & feels high end. If I have to recommend any renovations to anyone, it will definitely be Apoena Kitchens.

The cabinet installer Fabio

The cabinet installer Fabio is amazing! He is knowledgeable, helpful and understanding the extent of the scope of the work needed for our cabinet installations. He pays a lot of attention to detail and went above and beyond to get our job done in a timely manner! Fabio was able to note any problems on site and get it fixed right away without further instruction or direction, which was a big help for us, and it took him two days to finish it the kitchen cabinets in the basement kitchen and the main floor kitchen. Very efficient with time! but our We are all very grateful for his cabinet installation knowledge. In addition, he was being nice and very helpful with other little ad-hoc handy man requests I had!

Hiring Apoena was the best thing I did for my condo renovation. Their product selection and attention to details is outstanding. I love coming home to my beautiful place and received so many compliments from my family and friends.
So thankful and happy that my timeline and budget was met by the team as well.
