Basement Renovation

Where do you begin to find a reputable basement renovation company? I heard so many sad stories from friends and family about companies who did not complete work or did a very poor job or changed what they promised when the job began.

We were skeptical but called a few places for quotes. The first companys price was outrageous. The second was all over the map with price and very disorganized and it didnt make us feel any confidence in the process. A few more bad estimates followed.

My next call was to Level Up Basements and I spoke to the owner Michael. There is a comfort level for us in dealing directly with the owner. He arrived at our home and Michaels humble nature and kind, trustworthy personality was evident. He seemed like a very honest hardworking man.

We discussed our general idea, he took measurements and within minutes Michael had formulated a general price which broke down materials, labour and a work back schedule. To tell you we were impressed would be an understatement. No one up to that point was that concise with pricing and process.
Michaels scheduling system and accuracy to detail was unmatched by anyone, everything was super clear. My wife and I asked many questions, specifically about the project completion date and upgrades and he assured us that it would be 25 business days from start to finish for our specific project. The payment structure was also broken down to various dates of project completion. It was actually hard to believe that his process was so seamless.

Ashley the Designer came to our home and made some amazing suggestions on what our basement could look like followed by some wonderful 3D schematics to choose from. We then went to the showroom and chose our floors, cabinets, doors, quartz etc.

On the start date the materials were delivered to my home as scheduled. Michael and Avtar, the Project Manager were both there and went through the process again as to what was happening next. The framers began their work on the same day. Over the next few weeks right on schedule, electrical/plumbing rough in, drywall/mud/sanding/stairs/paint/floors/doors/quartz counters etc.

Throughout the process Avtar the Project Manager and Michael the owner were just a text or phone call away. Avtar visited the site on a regular basis and always kept us up to date on the project. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, very sincere and customer focused. It was refreshing to see the respect that Avtar and Michael have for all the trades people that were working in our home. If something needed to be addressed it was handled professionally and fast.

So here we are, a beautiful finished basement in a month right on schedule. My wife and I still cant believe how a junky and cluttered old basement can turn into such a clean and comforting space without any headaches or issues. We sit and stare at it everyday with a big smile.
I can tell you absolutely without any doubt that this was the most seamless and satisfying project we have undertaken in our home.
