We worked with Open Concept Engineering and Construction LTD on removing 3 structural walls during our home renovations.

We applied for construction permit from Town of Oakville, as were making big structural changes to the house. Sami and Glenn provided detailed drawings of the existing home structure and the proposed work. They also helped with the process. Permit was issued in just two weeks, which was remarkable and is unheard of.

Sami and Glenn were very professional, meticulous and detail oriented. All the work was completed within given timeline of 3/4 weeks, which included removal of structural walls, installation of beams and rerouting air vents. Town inspector was more than happy to see the quality of work done. Our vision came to life by opening up walls between living room, kitchen and dining room. We have our dream main floor now and also have peace of mind about the safety of the structure of the house.

Sami and his team are true professional. He listened to my need when we first met and suggested a few options that gave me the flexibility and balance between cost and performance. Sami also consistently recommended what's "right" and in many cases ended up saving me money while achieving the result I wanted. We removed a load bearing wall on the main floor and needed it to be done within a very tight window. He pulled through with his team. They left the site clean and tidy and ready for the next phase of my project. Will definitely recommend to others.

Sami started by showing us his credentials - a bonafide engineer. He checked the beams, the floor levels, everything with his tools and ladder. While the minor bouncing may be annoying, he reassured us the structure is sound and no work is required. To remove the bounce he gave us DIY instructions. He was detailed and awesome. Thoroughly professional and highly recommended.

If you have Air Ducts in the Basement creating a "Hump" under a Beam and can't find anyone that is experienced or willing to get rid of it then PLEASE contact Open Concept Engineering. Sami has a straightforward approach to his quoting process. I found it helpful to share my entire wishlist and have him work through every detail and provide recommendations. Not only did Sami and Team get rid of the Hump in my basement they also provided before and after readings on the airflow and temperature improvements in a bedroom that was problematic. This is just one of many examples of Sami's attention to detail and ability to view the problem from a Homeowner's perspective and apply his engineering knowledge to help. My experience with Open Concept has been extremely positive and I am very happy with the end result.

Sami was extremely professional, organized, responsive, and fast. Needed to remove a wall between my kitchen and living room which was about 10 feet long. Job was completed in a single day and the attention to detail was great. Very happy with the overall experience and end result!
