Derek initially did a great job but when my driveway sealer turned milky a few months later, Derek was no where to be found. I left several phone messages and a few texts for him. He never responded. He had also promised to seal the asphalt at the end of my driveway. He never did. I am very disappointed in Derek and would not recommend him.

Derek and his team did a fantastic job pressure washing , taking old sand weeds out then sanding back following sealing , from the first communication with Derek to the completion of the job , everything was done in timely manner to our 100% satisfaction. They are fully skilled, courteous , pay attention to the every detail of the job, looking at their job, my neighbors hired them right away.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. PROMISED TO SAND AND SEAL. THIS IS WHAT WE GOT. REFUSES TO RESPOND TO MESSAGES, THEN SAYS THAT HE HAS RESPONDED. ALWAYS HAS EXCUSES....PROMISES TO COME TO FIX, THEN DOESN'T SHOW UP. IF I COULD TEACH HIM ONE LESSON, IT WOULD BE TO PROVIDE POSITIVE HONEST COMMUNICATION WITH CLIENTS. WE PAID HIM IN FULL AS HE REQUESTED, AND HE PROMISED TO RETURN THE NEXT DAY TO RETURN TO MOVE HEAVY LAWN FURNITURE AND PLANTERS BACK. NEVER CAME BACK TO DO THIS, OR TO FIX HIS MESS.

This is the second time I have used Derek's service of Scottish on the Rocks, to seal my driveway. The first time was 3 years ago. Derek uses a superior tar based oil like product, and I find it has been far superior to acrylic sealers. This product will absorb into the asphalt and better preserve the driveway, compared to acrylic sealers that just sit on the surface. It was also recommended to me by my paving company to use oil based sealers over acrylic sealers. I also find this sealer also restores a like new appearance to the asphalt.

Derek also well prepares the surface, by sweeping and blowing debris off the driveway before applying his sealer.

Over all a very diligent and informative professional.

In 2020 I bought a house in Burlington, 60 days before closing I gave this company a heads up on when the concrete pads work could be done. There was no poor weather, but yet the workers never showed up to poor the pad after a 1,500$ deposit was given.

We’re not into spring, ive tried Calling and texting for an entire week with no response. All I want is my concrete pads to be poured so I can get my swim spa delivered.

We needed room for a extra car on our property and we had a cement drive already so we simply had an extension added. The guys/gals work was excellent and we are very satisfied with the work - The cement is as thick as the original and has re-bar added - The shape even blended in with the front steps - Looks like it was always this way! - Would recommend this company to everyone! Luckily for us workers did not wear kilts while working

On July 21/20 Derek showed up to look at our interlocking brick driveway and walkway and gave us a quote for $1100.00 to power wash, fill with sand and seal. Said he would be back following week weather permitting. Showed up around noon on Aug. 14/20. Said he had a flat tire. Left 1 guy here and left. They power-washed the driveway which blew all the stuff up on side of house and the kitchen windows and our neighbours' garage, as well. Derek came back later and tried to hose down the windows with no result. Left again, now 2 guys were putting the sand in the cracks. Derek came back to seal.....sprayer for sealing broke down. They went to Dollarama to get paint rollers to finish sealing driveway. Looked good that night, however, I knew I would have to clean. Our cat had to be put down on the 15th, so I didn't get to clean that day. So on Sunday the 16th I had to scrub down windows with soap and a sponge, house down both the side and parts of the front from all the crap from the driveway in between the bricks and neighbours' garage. I also had to shovel the end of the driveway where all the other crap from between bricks ended up. I noticed the hose was washing away the sand. Sent an email to Derek that day to come back and take a look. He showed up unannounced and we showed him the mess. Said he would be back with some sand in a few days. Aug.26/20 emailed to say "He hadn't forgot about us". Sept. 1/20 emailed him again to tell him the driveway was much worse. "Things are growing again between bricks and the sand is washing away when it rains". Responded "was having some personal matters and would be right out to fix as soon as he could". Sept.15/20 no word from Derek, so I sent a not very nice emailed as to how disappointed we were and that we neither received a receipt for the $1125.00 not any kind of Warranty, which should be good for 4 or 5 years. Got a reply "the moment I'm able to I will be right back to fix, I apologize. Oct. 1/20 sent another email as we had not heard a word back from him. Said we were very disappointed and would be home all day on Oct. 2/20. To date have not heard 1 word from him. I'd say, not very professional!!! We have tire marks in sand at the end of the driveway. Most of the sand is just washing away. Everytime we walk in our house it's like walking in from the beach. Sand everywhere. This job should have been very simple. 1. Comeback with some sand to fill the open cracks. 2. Reseal it properly with a decent seal. Not sure what our options are at this time, however, we will be looking into it.

Derek was a great guy y deal with and did an exceptional job. He cleaned, prepped, repaired and sealed my blacktop driveway to perfection. All the neighbours loved it so much they joined in and pretty well the entire neighbourhood is now looking fresh and updated. Job well done.
