We had planned on flooring and the kitchen to be done but we were quoted a very fair price point under our budget, so we were able to add more work to be done. We had the entire main floor renovated including; flooring of the entire main floor, flooring of second floor hallway and down the stairway, stained railing/banister with new spindles and newel posts, painted all rooms and foyer/halls except 1 room (since we liked that colour still), new baseboards through-out the entire main floor and second floor hallway, whole new kitchen and the main floor half-bathroom was also completely redone, the 2 coat closets in the foyer with sliding doors were not even with each other (one lower than the other) so they evened those out to match as well.
Overall we were happy (which is why I am still giving 2 stars instead of 0) with the end result and quality of work but a week ago (so about 2-2.5 months after the work was all done) we had a water leak in the basement. Once I paid for emergency after hours costs for a plumber and several holes in my basement ceiling and kitchen wall later, I have a second insurance claim from this renovation.
First claim was a subcontractor left a sink running for an entire afternoon that resulted in my basement being flooded (and was my first insurance claim). Get It Done wasn't responsible for that one and was very helpful during that time so I don't blame them for this first issue. The second leak is from a baseboard nail that punctured a water pipe that leads to the second-floor washroom. Thankfully I was home and saw the leak (likely within 10 minutes of it becoming visible anyway) and turned off the water but I asked for the plumber bill to be paid along with no cost to me to patch up the ceiling and kitchen wall and have not heard back so this is now going to be my second insurance claim in less than 3 months due to this renovation work.
