Alpha Movers were able to book my move with only 3 weeks notice. We were very nervous about finding a mover that was available as our move took place at the end of the month which is typically a busy time. So we were happy about that.

The guys showed up on time (in fact they were even a bit early). They confirmed the move the day before and the directions the morning of, which was reassuring as we've heard many horror stories. They were careful with our belongings and both loaded and unloaded everything within a reasonable timeframe.

The guys weren't what you would call the friendliest people however. They spoke very few words to us, which wasn't a big deal except for the fact that they didn't tell us when they were leaving our condo for our new place. They just had us sign the paper work and took off without saying that the were headed to the new house. This was a problem as we still had a locker filled with things that needed to be loaded onto the truck. By the time we learned that they had left without telling us, we figured we'd just stuff everything into our cars in the interest of saving time. So this was unfortunate. Other than that however, they were honest people and their price was fair (comparable to their competitors).

Pro's:
-Arrived on time
-Started loading truck quick enough
-Moderately careful with our belongings

Con's:
-1 guy spoke 0% English and the 2nd guy spoke 2% English
-Nearly impossible to communicate and have a mutual understanding of what our even basic needs were throughout the move.
-Both seemed too old to be movers (50's?)
-They started really slowing down 1 hour into the move and seemed to delay purposefully right before truck was almost loaded
-Unloading truck was awfully slow and lazy - they started just dropping off boxes inside front door and wouldn't go upstairs or down
-I ended up moving more boxes up and down stairs then they did
-They refused to move my 36" TV downstairs - they said it would be too hard
-They charged a full hour for the last 20mins
-Despite delaying about 2hrs throughout the move and charging me the full hour for the last 20mins, I gave them a $60 tip and they showed exaggerated disappointment with that.
-After they left, they stayed parked on our front lawn for 20mins .. leave already!
