Second dwelling basement project
We hired VIP Reno for converting our finished basement to a second dwelling unit. Project involved adding kitchen, one bedroom, flooring, egress window etc. Bob and his team told us they were aware of City of Mississauga Code and renovating the basement following the Code. Later on when we obtained the permit and called Inspectors from City of Mississauga, we realized-
1. Egress window was wrong. They used sliding window and the window width did not match the definition of egress window.
2. The exhaust (duct) on the kitchen was not connected anywhere (like a dummy duct).
3. They told us the air duct is not required in the washroom and sealed the existing duct (which required some repairs).
4. They left an electrical outlet behind the sink in the kitchen as it is.
