Renovation Project (bathrooms/flooring/painting/fence repair etc.)

extremely disappointed to be writing this review. I have never posted a negative review and I had such high hopes for finished product. extremely poor/amateur workmanship. Attached are some progress of the finished products, they've fixed some but this was considered finished. Anything I’ve posted in this review has been discussed verbally/and written with the owner. This was a lot of money for me to spend on renovations. I hired this business in mid-2019 for renovations 3 1/2 bath/painting/flooring/Deck stairs etc., repeatedly asked for a walkthru of whatever was agreed in the contract/text messages vs. finished product. Lots of issues, only some mentioned here, new Deck Railing was priced in; however, unbeknownst to me, my old deck railing was used. I don’t have any issues with the old railing being used; however, doesn’t seem right to price in new and use old without my knowledge. Fence gate wouldn't close properly, they charged a lot of money to fix, we're still using hockey stick to keep the gate closed. Main bathroom doesn't look anything as initial discussed/promised as well as the agreed design by their designer. comparison pictures promised/final installed sent to the business. I was firmly against putting tiles in tub as I had replaced tiles in the same bathroom 2 times. One Friday when I came home after work, the tub was completed with subway tiles only was supposed to be at top. Most of the fixtures (taps/towel racks/toilet paper holders and others) are just resting on top/are loose and have not been screwed in properly. There was water damage in the ceiling due to their negligence in properly installing shower fixtures upstairs. They painted over the damage, but yellow stains are coming back. Subcontractor brought in wife/little kids to an active construction site, discussed with owner many times as it’s a huge financial liability for homeowner in case anything happens, was told he has WCB and my response always that would not cover wife/kids. The work was not completed, No response to many texts. In mid-2020, I sent an e-mail with pictures of the work that needed to be completed. They did come back early Sept to finish a couple of things but after a couple of days, have disappeared again, sent another e-mail Sept 17 after texting couple of times. No response. I was told not to worry and have been consistently told right from the 1st meeting they guarantee their work hence offering the 5-year warranty for customer’s piece of mind. There's no indication what the final completion date is/was and when the warranty started. Contract states warranty papers will be handed over when the job is completed. I’ve asked many times but no response. What good is the warranty if there's silence on any communication. I have the texts/e-mails to substantiate this. I filed a complaint with BBB in Sept 2020, BBB has not received a response from business till date. Looking into Legal action currently.
