Regular Cleaning services fall short
I called Golden Nest for a move-in clean after my first choice said they didn't service Orléans and recommended Stéphany's company to me.
The move-in clean went very well. The cleaners were efficient and cheerful and the job went so well, I engaged the company for semi-monthly cleanings at the house. This move-in clean is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars to the company.
During the on-site estimate, I agreed with the owner that the cleaners would work off a priority list which I'd leave on the kitchen counter for them.
They were in my house twice a month for 5 months and I don't believe even a single visit was to our satisfaction. The lists we made were ignored, the crew apparently choosing their own priorities. Sometimes they were bizarre, like the time we came back and every toilet roll in the house had been turned backwards to spool from the back. Cleaning equipment would be put back willy-nilly, and more than once the house would be festooned with wet rags (even thrown on the upholstery, the horror!) that the crew left behind, as if the quittin' time whistle blew mid-shift and that was all she wrote. Top priority items would be left undone and we'd never really be sure exactly what they did during the time in the house.
I persisted through all of this, communicating the shortcomings to Stéphany, feeling hopeful that the miscommunications could be cleared up and we could eventually get the cleaning service we wanted and were paying for.
My optimism ended the day I noticed the staff had been helping themselves to food items without permission. There had been other missing items in the house but they had to be given the benefit of the doubt, but in this there was no doubt. I contacted the owner, who said the cleaner confessed to the theft and apologized. My faith broken, I terminated them.
Stéphany, the owner, is absolutely delightful but is clearly inexperienced at running a business. I do not believe any of the complaints I took to her made it to the cleaning crew, though she said what she had to to mollify me. As well, though she insisted to me on several occasions when questioned that we had the same cleaning team weekly throughout the fall and winter, I have proof that this was not the case.
Maybe in a few years she'll have figured this all out. Until then, you're probably best off with another cleaning company.
