We recently underwent a full kitchen renovation and I am happy to share my recent experience with Mark and his team at Senso Design. From concept to completion, the entire renovation journey was a seamless process that resulted in a kitchen that exceeded my expectations.

Without any personal references, our decision to go with Senso Design was based on Home Stars/Google reviews, first impression and our gut feeling. Thinking back, it may have been a risky decision but we have no regrets. We did extensive research and had numerous consultations before committing with Senso Design. From the moment we engaged Mark and the professional team at Senso Design, we knew we were in capable hands. Mark and his team took the time to understand our vision and needs, patiently discussed various design options and suggested practical solutions. Throughout the project, they maintained open communication, keeping us informed of the progress and any potential changes. Mark was available 24/7. He always responded to our text/email in a timely manner and addressed any issues immediately.

Right from the beginning, the importance of acquiring a permit was evident because we were removing a load-bearing wall. Senso Design had an Architect who was well-versed in the permit process, guided us through the paperwork and ensured all the necessary approvals were secured before any work began. This essential step, set the foundation for a seamless and hassle-free renovation, as we felt reassured that every aspect of the project would meet safety standards and building codes. The permit process in Markham took approximately two months to attain. It was not an issue for us because we were not in a rush. However, we did incur an unexcepted permit cost but the Architect provided us with a through explanation for the additional fee which we covered.

The design phase was an exciting and creative process but very stressful at the same time because I second guessed every decision I made. However, the design consultant took our ideas and inspirations and created a space that exceeded our expectations. The design consultant seamlessly integrated modern elements with classic touches, ensuring that our kitchen would stand the test of time in terms of both style and functionality. The layout was reconfigured to optimize space and workflow. The addition of a large center island has provided us space for meal preparation, ample counter space for multiple tasks and doubling as a breakfast nook for casual dining. Senso Design used a great Design Application that provided realistic renderings so we knew exactly what we were getting. There were a few design concept details I wished the Design Consultant educated us better on but overall, we were happy with the results.

The demolition and construction phase were surprisingly efficient, given the scope of the project. The team worked diligently to minimize disruption to our daily lives, and we were impressed by their ability to stay on schedule without compromising the quality of work. The team worked everyday from 8-5pm. At times, there was a language barrier with some of the workers but that is what Google Translate is for :) Every element was meticulously installed, from the intricate tile pattern on the floor to the flawlessly aligned cabinet doors. The floor tiles had veins in which the installer made sure each tile flowed in the same direction. The fabricator for my Quartz countertop and backsplash was flawless. There was only one seam created and you cant even detect it. The cabinet installer was a one man show. He took his time over 4 to 5 days but was very meticulous. We did have two issues that took several attempts to fix but, in the end, it was corrected to our satisfaction.

The project was completed within the estimated timeframe, a testament to the team's professionalism and commitment to delivering on their promises. They took great care to minimize disruptions to our daily routine and ensured the work area was kept tidy throughout the renovation process.

The cost was fair, considering the level of craftsmanship and the premium materials used. I would recommend that you have at least a 10% contingency fund above the proposed quote. Though the renovation was a significant investment, the results speak for themselves. The value added to my home and the joy I experience every time I step into my new kitchen make it worth every penny.

Even after the renovation was completed, Mark continued to provide exceptional post-renovation support. He promptly addressed two minor issues, one of which was related to the quality of the handles we purchased from one of their suppliers. Mark worked with the supplier to arrange for a full replacement at no additional cost and hand delivered the product within a week.

In conclusion, my full kitchen renovation experience with Mark and his team was nothing short of extraordinary. Their expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail brought my dream kitchen to life.
