They gave me a quote for home addition and collected $1,288 for development permit. After the permit was approved by the city, they gave me another quote with price increase, I approved it. They said work will begin in April 2021. I secured financing, paid bank charges. They came later with another increased quote. I said that that wasn't the amount we agreed on. They said they will revise it and get back to me but they never got back to me. I texted them by June 2021 to know when the project will commence. They said the won't proceed with the project any more. This was so disappointing to me because they made me to spend $1,288 on development permit, $275 to revised architect drawings and lot of bank charges on financing which I am still paying to me bank.

I'm so sorry Rufus that we couldn't come to a fixed agreement on your project. This development became to pricey on a materials standpoint and I know you were on a tight budget and couldn't incur anymore increases. With materials having tripled in some respects, the writing on the wall was that I would put myself in a vulnerable position and that's not a good place to be. For both of us. All the best to you. Just to clarify the development permit cost 1288$ and Rufus wasn't binded to my company in any way, so he could have shopped around with other contractors to get a fixed price
