Rui did an amazing job finishing our basement. He is super collaborative and really brought my vision to life. Not only is he collaborative, but he is also flexible and really ensures you are happy with the work being done. Rui is also extremely responsive, which is not always the case with contractors. He always picks up when you call or calls back with in the hour. Rui and his team also show up when they say they will show up and do high quality work. I'm looking forward to working with Rui for any future projects and I will and have recommended Rui to a number of people based on the work he has done for us.

We recently had Rui and his team demolish our old tired deck and construct a new larger deck. Cannot say enough about the great work Rui and his crew did on our new deck.

We contracted Rui and his team to install new flooring, cap our stairs and new lighting (among other updates) to our recently purchased 1870’s home in Toronto’s West End. The discovery of knob and tube wiring could have been disastrous but Rui helped walk us through the process and put us at ease, while completing things in a timely manner with a baby due shortly after! The finished product was a beautifully renovated home that set us up for a stress-free experience when we brought our newborn home from the hospital. Thanks Rui!!

RS Carpentry came recommended from a family member. After seeing the master suite renovation they completed, we were comfortable asking Rui to quote a complete basement renovation for our home. Rui’s estimate was competitive, and his approach allowed for flexibility to change design elements during the construction. This combined with the quality of work they provided for our family member were the main reasons we choose to go with RS Carpentry instead of one of the larger basement renovators. We did not regret our choice.

Having been involved in the construction industry for 10+ years, I appreciated Rui’s honesty and customer first focus. Rui and his team were very dependable, organized and kept our home clean throughout the renovation. Rui was easy to deal with and very accommodating whenever we changed elements during the renovation. Given the size of the project, it was inevitable we would encounter unexpected situations. Rui was great at providing suggestions and resolving any issues that arose. The entire team was personable and willing to go the extra mile to make sure the job met or exceeded our expectations.

The final result was stunning. We have received countless compliments from family and friends that have seen our new basement. We are extremely happy with our new space and we are planning to use Rui and his team again soon to complete some work in our garage. We would recommend him for anyone looking to complete a home renovation.

Rscarpentry (Rui) was recommended to me by my Interior Designer, and I am very grateful to her. Rui and his team are wonderful. They replaced a rotting deck on the third floor of my town home, and also built a new pergola, and completed several upgrades within the house. I felt like they were friends. Rui discussed the project with me step by step, and gave me options and advice. Thankfully, I followed his advice, and both the deck and and pergola are as solid as they are beautiful. I’m also thrilled with their inside work, which included drywall repair, replacing a stucco ceiling, and painting.

I feel that Rui’s price was very reasonable, and he and his team remained on the job until it was fully completed.

Being a busy family who have endured many renovations, we had three criteria when hiring our next contractor - Dependable, excellent craftsmanship and a strong communicator. Rui and his crew delivered on all three areas.

The project was completed on time and budget. The team showed up whenever they said they would and the team always arrived ready to put in a full days work. There were no unexpected costs on completion. Rui and his crew were very personable, respected our home and kept the work-space tidy.

The attention to detail and craftsmanship met our high expectations. Adding to this, Rui was always accommodating when we suggested changes at any point in the project making it is obvious that pleasing the client is a priority.

Rui's strong communication skills were what really made this project painless. We were kept up-to-date on the project status at all times and next steps were clearly communicated on a daily basis. Most importantly, when we were told trades were coming to perform a task, they always arrived on-time and ready to work.

There were no surprises in this project other than the pleasant surprise that it was completed on-time and beyond our satisfaction.

I had a magor flood in one of my apartments and it had to be completely renovated. Walls, floor, carpentry etc. I am delighted with the results and everything was finished in a timely manner.
