We did a kitchen reno and needed to repaint some walls on the first floor as well as paint all the doors. We hired Urban Palette to complete the project after reading the reviews on HomeStars.
The job was done on time and the crew was friendly. The price was reasonable, but with some unexpected additions at the end.
However, on the quality side I was disappointed.
- Although the walls were painted well, the job on the doors was not as good. I have french doors with glass inserts and the paint work around the glass was very sloppy. The glass was not taped and protected at all, lines are not straight and glass was stained with paint. We were also charged extra for 3rd coat on the doors, although I highly doubt it was necessary and if it was done, they were not covering the entire door surface for the 3rd time, but perhaps some small areas.
- Overall quite a bit of stains were left on the hardwood floor as well, I had to scrape off after they left.
- None of the hardware or electric plates were removed, as was listed on the agreement. We removed most of it ourselves, they did not remove any remaining ones and just painted around those.
Overall, I know there are much worse contractors out there and the experience with Urban Palette was pleasant overall. But I was not lucky with the craftsmanship of the particular team working at my project.
