John and Kevin from Jaia Group Inc. did a great job renovating our home and have my highest recommendation!

It was a larger project that involved a complete remodeling, including building a home office in the unfinished basement, renovating the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms, replacing both the tile and carpet with flooring throughout the house, redesigning the upper and lower decks, as well as updating the staircase and adding modern metal railings, and much more than I have space to type.

After reading many positive online reviews about him and his company, I met with John on several occasions prior to the job start date to communicate my vision, and he exceeded my expectations with the final outcome. John is quite knowledgeable and was the consummate professional in managing the project from start to finish, keeping us updated on progress, trades scheduling and confirming any projects details with us.

I also appreciated that from the start of the project, John and Kevin worked every day on the job from quite early in the mornings, until the end of each work day (and some weekends), to ensure that the project was completed within a reasonable timeframe. John was also easy to communicate with, especially when adjustments needed to made, and was responsive when I sought his input on new ideas.

Our older house has now been made into a modern home. Thank you, Jaia Group Inc., as well as to the tradespeople that assisted along the way!

After an incredible job on our bathroom reno's we arranged to have Jaia Group; (John and Kevin) return to tackle our main floor reno. It was a huge undertaking with a few bumps along the way however, John was on top of things while we had to pivot & make adjustments. Not easy managing a reno while in a pandemic. This project was pretty much a full gut job and the boys delivered. My main floor & kitchen looks incredible and we love our new space. Thank you for another outstanding job!!!

We spent a lot of time sourcing contractors to completely reno our ensuite. Jaia Group was referred to us by a friend who completed a house reno and their work was incredible. We met with John a couple of times to scope the project and booked him on the spot. John and Kevin were amazing to work with. The quality of the work was outstanding but equally important, they were honest, on time, focused. John is a man of his word and earns your trust. I certainly can’t say that about everyone. Highly recommend Jaia Group and will contact them for the next project.

If I could give JAIA GROUP additional star ratings I would. John, Kevin and the crew did an outstanding job on our 2nd floor reno which consisted of 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and hallway. They were patient while we asked questions regarding the process and flexible when we added a few additional requests. John is customer focused, detailed oriented and made sure we fully satisfied upon completion. We were so thrilled with the outcome that we have booked them to renovate our main floor in the fall. CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Can't say enough about our experience with John and Kevin of JAIA Group Inc. on our basement! From the initial consultation, John was able to take our vision and create a basement that in fact surpassed our expectations! John and his team were always punctual, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. His willingness to engage with us and share ideas throughout, enabled for an amazing final result. Their workmanship and attention to detail were something to marvel as well. Additions were done along the way and John went above and beyond what was required of him, just to ensure we were completely satisfied in the end.

John and his crew finished our basement within the time frame he provided us. They where always on time and a pleasure to have around. John was great communicating with me from the beginning, he has great ideas and design sense. John and his team where always very professional and very tidy - they did a great job cleaning at the end of every shift. John was approachable - especially in situation where I made a last minute changes - he never once made me feel bad. Everyday John went above and beyond.
We absolutely love our new space and wouldn’t hesitate recommending John for any big or small job.

John, the owner of JAIA Group, comes across as a nice hard working man and you immediately trust him. But be aware of all the problems we had: * He measured the fireplace frame wrongly, and it has nothing to do with the built ins, and it looks weird, and didn't admit to his mistake and refused to correct it, so the contractors of the built ins had to hid his mistake.
* His electrician was responsible for us to be without AC in the summer for 4 days, he told us first than the thermostat battery was off, after changing the battery, he then suggested that the thermostat was broken and we had to change it. He never suggested he will fix it because he caused the damage to the thermostat. Four days after buying a new thermostat, and with our new furnace still in not working condition, he decided to come home (he took time off) and check the electrical connections and he found out the problem. We never knew what happened, as he never explained it to us when asked, he kept repeating "it was not our work who caused the damage". He also did not once apologize for the stress of not having AC in the middle of the summer.
* We asked him to paint the floor of the furnace room to have a cleaner and better finish to it, he did it as asked and almost immediately, the (also newly bought) water tank stop working. He claimed that it was not related to him or the paint. Four days after (long weekend) a technician that we paid (form our pocket) came to fixed it and told us, that, in fact, it was the paint the cause of the furnace service interruption. If he claims all these years of experience, why he didn’t disclose this problem before starting the job? Or perhaps, he is not as trained as he indicates to be.
* He promised to come back after our built ins were installed to instal the bar plumbing, and disappear on us. I left 5 voicemails and at least called 20 times. My husband also called, texted, and emailed him as well during this time. We were opened to any time, we just wanted to have him finish the basement. We were already over 4 weeks behind schedule, and we just wanted to see this work through. The one time he answered in 5 weeks, and he agreed to come at a time that was convenient for him, my husband, who works in Toronto, took the day off to wait for him. He never showed up. Not only that, but he didn't even call him to say "I am sorry, let's reschedule". No news whatsoever.
* Regarding the floor, we picked a very nice and expensive tiles, for some reason maybe just to speed up, he installed the floor before painting the walls. The result was an expensive floor covered with paint. He said that with vinegar and water they will go away, unfortunately it is not the case. I hope with consecutive cleaning they will disappear, but it is still not the case. In addition some of the tile moved and you can see the the wood below. He indicated he will come back and fixed it as well.
In sum, he never took ownership of any of his mistakes.
He tells you stories about bad customers owing him money, and demanding clients, like I am sure he will say about me now. I felt guilty with his stories of having to use his own money to buy materials for my basement and we paid him in full as he came highly recommended. He does not pick up the phone after he asked us to book a day for him to supposedly come. We have had other people do work for us and we were very happy with them.
Finally, if you read this review and you still hire him and things go very wrong, you can’t say that you didn’t know.

We just had John and Moses wrap up our laundry room reno. If there was a rating higher than 10, they would have received it.
They are skilled tradesmen who go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is satisfied. They are both very accommodating, professional and courteous. I would hire them again for any project, big or small. Thanks to you both, we appreciate your effort in all you did.
