Placed a service call to have dryer repaired. Looked at dryer very quickly and determined it was the belt pulley. I was quoted $162 for the replacement part that had to be ordered and $265 for the labor plus tax. I thought it was expensive but didn't want to buy a new dryer. The part is available online for $25 on Amazon.ca (Whirlpool W10547292 Idler Pulley) It took less then 20 minutes to fix which essentially makes the service call $795 per hour and I had to put the washer and dryer back in place and level again. They certainly know what they are doing but you'll pay heftily for it.
