Dear Mrs. Osland,
Breno Roofing and myself included always appreciate any feedback we get from all our valued customers, which helps us to improve our work and services and also provides supplementary information about our company to future clients, if the feedback or review is truthful, which is unfortunately NOT the case with yours.
Our company replaced to your COMPLETE satisfaction your entire shingled roof in 2020. You contacted us in May of this year to hire our company for your rear flat roof replacement because of extensive leaks. We proceeded with your flat roof replacement as agreed in June 2022. The entire process and work has been completed to your full satisfaction. With the first rain after the installation, you contacted our office and submitted a complaint about apparent new leak after our installation. Service call had been scheduled the very next day, however, before our crew got to your home, you contacted our office and apologized, because it turned out that it was pee from your dog and not leak from our roof - as per your explanation. On June 29, 2022 you called and emailed our office with a complaint of water paddle on your flat roof. We proceeded with warranty roof inspection of July 5th and didn't find anything wrong with your roof, nor any deficiencies with the workmanship and I was very pleased with the final result.
As you have confirmed during our phone call yesterday, your flat roof after our replacement has NEVER leaked, nor have you experienced any other issues. The only concern you are having is water paddle on your flat roof.
Even though you told me you will not waste your breath and time talking to me, kindly notice following:
Your old roof of only 205sqft had tar and gravel on it in a total weight of 6.7tonnes, with extensive water paddling in the middle of the roof. After decades of the roof
carrying this weight, sagging effect on your structure is evident. With full roof replacement Breno Roofing did on your roof, or any other company
would have done, the structure of your home and roof is not being examined, rectified or adjusted in any other way. Structural questions are not solved
by roof replacements, but leaks, rotten plywood, insufficient venting, lack of underlayment and/or deteriorated shingled/membranes are.
It is obvious that extensive water paddling had occurred on your old roof, however because of gravel on surface not noticeable, however this doesn't mean
that the roof replacement doesn't meet quality standards or requirements outlined in your contract, indeed it does to full extent, as we discussed yesterday.
The "water paddles" phenomen on flat roofs is NORMAL and present practically on every flat roof to different extent, depending on the underlying surface.
Flat roofs and SBS membranes used for them are built to withstand water paddles for decades, if they are installed properly, which is your case as well.
Breno Roofing has ALWAYS honored its warranties to the full extent, if right after roof replacements or after 10years. And it is crucial for our business that we continuously do so.
It is very sad that you feel we have delivered poor workmanship, which is NOT true since you have never had any issues with our roofs AT ALL, and also justifying your observance with your interior contractor comment, who as you told me on our phone call yesterday is the one who had suggested your entire structure underneath the roof needs rebuilding in the first place, but not the roof, doesn't provide you with justification labeling Breno Roofing as not reliable.
Kind regards,
Norbert
