Parliament Contracting

Our experience with Parliament Contracting was extremely positive from their first visit, right through to the end of the project. Our semi-detached bungalow had old stucco on one side and along the back, and it was showing its age. We wanted to upgrade both the aesthetics and the performance of our home by installing vinyl siding over top of insulation and vapour protection.

We had three companies come to provide us with quotes for this project, and Parliament stood out right away. Tyler was knowledgeable and courteous, and treated me with the same respect that he treated my husband. The representatives from the other two companies who visited us in our home directed most of their attention to my husband instead of speaking to us equally, and one of them even made several unwelcome comments during the quote process. Needless to say, between our very positive first impressions of Parliament, their excellent rating on HomeStars and their competitive price, it was an easy decision to choose them to complete the project.

Liam and the rest of the team showed up promptly on the first day of the project, were very friendly and kindly agreed to accommodate some additional requests that we had, such as inspecting and sealing a piece of corner siding on the front of our house that we suspected wasn't completely water tight, and replacing a small piece of damaged siding on the front of the house. They got to work right away, and we left for work feeling that our house was in good hands. When we got home at the end of the day, we were impressed by how much progress they had made, and how good everything was looking. The team arrived promptly the second morning, and worked into the evening to get everything completed. They cleaned up the work site the next morning, and left it spotless.

The Parliament team took a lot of care to do the job right, and paid attention to the details. We could tell that they took pride in their workmanship and that they wanted to meet and exceed our expectations. They brought in a plumber to extend our exterior water tap and took the initiative to move it to a more convenient location, they finished all the trim around doors, windows and fixtures very professionally, and they finished the top and bottom of the siding with care to prevent water infiltration from the roof and animal entry through the bottom. They replaced all of our old, mismatched vents with attractive modern ones, and even took the initiative to hide an electrical line under the siding (it had previously run along the exterior of the stucco and had always bothered me because it didn't look very good).

As soon as the project was completed, one of our neighbours called us to compliment us on how fantastic our house looks now, and to tell us that she had watched the progress of the project from her window. She said that she had been quite impressed by how hard the Parliament team worked, and how well they worked together.
