We had the pleasure of working with Rydel Roofing during Covid 19. They did our siding and they exceeded our expectations. They were always prompt and were jumping from one job to another. They stayed and completed the job. The team did an amazing job on our house. They were respectful and very knowledgeable- we had a few issues with our wood rotting, and the team did a great job repairing what needed to be repaired prior to putting new siding on. We had open communication, always notified if the guys would be running late or be present at the job or not (due to weather conditions). Would definitely recommend them to anyone who requires new siding!

We had our roof redone by Rydel Roofing this Spring 2021. From start to finish we were very impressed with their business practices. Starting with their project consultant, Shawn Laughren walked us through the entire process and was able to provide insight into the different shingles choices (brands) and colours.

The Rydel team worked very well together to prepare for the job and we were fortunate to have Abe as our lead roofer. He was meticulous with his work and with his clean up. With younger children it was important for us to know that he was working diligently to ensure their safety after hours (daily nail pick up, no debris left at the end of day). The team also ensured that our yard and pool were protected during the process.

Having done roofing myself in the past and being experienced with home renovations, I spent quite a bit of time researching the different roofing materials and systems before reaching out to 8 or 9 different contractors. From the beginning my experience with Shawn at Rydel was nothing but positive. He was only one two reps who spent time listening and addressing my concerns, answering my questions and further educated me on different products. I did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision.
Many contractors were quick to say they do this or that but Shawn explained in details Rydel’s procedures step by step which they followed through when they did the job. Their crew were nice and professional, and I am pleased with the work they did. I inspected the roof myself and it looks great.
Despite being windy that day, the guys did a good job cleaning up the property from debris and garbage from the job.
Like most construction job, it is unlikely that everything goes without a hitch. In our case, we had a drywall screw pop through the ceiling when a bundled of shingles was dropped on the roof. We have cathedral ceiling and the roof consists of 2 x 8 covered with a sheet of plywood on the outside and drywall on the inside, no attic. I think it was just bad luck the shingles fell right where the crew was.
I mentioned this to the job supervisor during the inspection the next day and to Shawn when he dropped off the warranty paper. Both apologized and offered to have it fixed without even seeing it. I turned down their offer as I am still finishing renovations inside and it is an easy fix for me to do. To me, their reaction to the issue is what was important. I felt they were sincere in wanting to have it fixed and ensure we were happy with the job.
I have no problem recommending Rydel Roofing.

The crew that was sent to re shingle our roof was very professional and polite. They worked hard on what I would consider to be a challenging roof and they cleaned up completely afterwards. I would highly recommend this company to others.

The work entailed procuring and installing a two rail snow fence on an existing rubber tile roof.

The initial step of obtaining a quotation and gathering the information to select a vendor went very smoothly. I wish all companies were as easy to work with as Rydel was. My initial enquiries for information were answered promptly and completely. When it came to the on-site visit to view the work that I was looking to have done, the sales manager was punctual (always a good sign in my books), well prepared and ensured that all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction. He ensured that he or the right people were available in advance to answer questions about the product or the installation process without having to go away and research or ask others and delay the whole process. The quote was made available before they departed. The degree of organization and communication (and a fair price in my view) led me to proceed with Rydel.

The scheduling of the work and the communication surrounding this was one area that Rydel could improve upon in my experience. The job start was delayed more than once. However, the delays were not communicated in advance and only upon my enquiries to the office. Everyone that I spoke with was courteous and helpful in looking in to my situation but I would hope that they would communicate proactively in future any schedule delays rather than have the customers needing to call and determine where things stood.

Once the work began, my confidence in choosing Rydel was fully restored. The care being taken during the installation was fully evident. Any concerns that I had with the installation process were alleviated as they took the time to explain how they ensured that they screwed the mounting plates in to the truss and not just in to the plywood sheeting. The work proceeded without any delays (even proceeded in to the weekend with my okay) to get the job completed.

This is the first winter that the snow fence has been in place and it is performing as expected. I am very pleased with the quality of the installation. I can not evaluate the quality of the snow fence at this time as it will likely be a few years before that determination can be fully made. Aside from the communication around scheduling, I was pleased with the work performed. If I need roofing work in the future, I would call Rydel again.
