Starway Moving

I sadly used this company in 2021 to move us from port Alberni bc to hanna Alberta. They first of all brought to small of a truck (also showed up like after dinner on the date they were supposed to move us). Anyways they couldnt fit all my belongings and said they would come back in 5 days to pick up the rest. I had sold my house so I obviously couldnt store it there. I madly tried to find a storage locker with no luck so I was forced to leave my belongings as I was also moving my kids and pets so I couldnt get a U-Haul. They then held my belongings hostage until I paid an invoice 3x what their quote was. I did take them to court and I didnt get a cent for all my belongings they left behind. As a single mom that really set me back having to replace all kinds of things after a big move like that. Also with the bill being just under 10,000 when I was told 3400. Anyways I got a small amount which doesnt even cover my legal fees but she has yet to pay a cent on it. I dont want to hire another lawyer to get the money that didnt even cover the costs of taking her in the first place. After all this Ive seen probably a hundred or more comments, posts, reviews of people who also had terrible experiences. Be aware and stay far away from them. Unfortunately I didnt do my research. I trusted the girl who did my virtual walk through Jenny, I think its set up that way on purpose. If Anna had of done my virtual walk through I wouldnt have used them. That woman gives off psychopathic vibes. I honestly dont think she has a conscious whatsoever. She was dishonest right to the judges face, straight faced. She watched me cry and some of my grandmothers stuff was left behind, again, not a single emotion. She knew I was a single mom. Didnt care that all the hardware for both my crib and sons bed were left behind. She honestly didnt care at all that her company had caused us so much hardship. And clearly she has no intentions of paying the 5k she was ordered to pay either.

Starway picked up my stuff from London, ON and only delivered half of it, they told me they might have delivered the other half to another customer and they are still trying to find it. This is 2 months after my move. The biggest mistake anyone can make is to use Starway moving. They are very very dishonest and they will not only break your stuff, they will lose them. They do not answer their phones once they pick up your stuff, infact they know they are a horrible company and they make no excuses or try to remedy it. I am still looking for my boxes...please if you moved with Starway recently and they gave you a wardrobe box that is not yours please call Starway. Thank you

moved from ON to AB Calgary. all was good till after delivery. they lost 2 twin mattresses and after I initially contacted them, they send me a form to fill, which I did right away after which they contacted me once to send me a picture of a QUEEN mattress..low effort lol. I called several times and they picked up maybe three times. I had to use a different number to ensure they picked up the calls. the person's on the phone told me that the issue was being dealt with by their supervisors/dispatcher, but when I asked if I can speak with them they said they are NOT supposed to give us their numbers.. THEY obviously do not want to deal with this. There is no contact from them at all, no updates nothing. terrible customer service.

I gave Starway Moving Co. a deposit of 500.00 .. they service is terrible.. they dont answer their phone or emails.
They say one thing and it never happens.. I gave 3 dates for them to pick up my stuff .. they came at 10:30pm on the 4th day without a truck or helpers .. I had to get another company to move my stuff into storage as I needed to be out of my house by midnight ..
I would never recommend this company.. stay away .. you will regret it if you hire this company.
This will not be my first review but I will write one everyday until I get my money back .

Dont choose this company! They are horrible! Before I signed the contract,they contacted me everyday and responded my email right way! But since I pay the deposit and signed the contract! My nightmare began!no one answered me phone ,no one responded my email. They dont even know where is my furniture the delivery day which we signed in the contract. Two weeks later they just let me pay money and told my stuffs will been delivered tomorrow. And no one tell you when and who to contact! The owner is worse! She told me the delivery people already there and I have to be there in 20 minutes if not I need extra charge! But where I been there, no body there, and she didnt pick up my phone! Just text me they are on the way! Seriously!

I will definitely recommend Starway movers to many people. Chosen them was my best decision ever concerning my movement. Thanks ones again Starway mover

I did not have any problems with service from Starways they were very good with there communication from start to finish. They let you know up front what all the possible cost will be and the break down of what you are paying for. The only thing I would of liked is for to see a before and after weight of the truck after my stuff was picked up, but other than that I both teams that picked up and dropped off we're very professional and careful with my items.

The Starway team made my move a lot easier .Everyone was always polite and courteous .The pick up and delivery was all on time . I was very please with the service

They came and picked up all my stuff, moved it and dropped it off at my new place across the country. Everything arrived without any damage. I would recommend to anyone moving!

Terrible "company". They do NOT have their own trucks or employees. They DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE! The "insurance" is based on weight! If they break stuff (and they will), they only pay 60 CENTS per pound of the broken item! No matter what the item was worth. So, they have to break 583 POUNDS of your furniture to just break even at the $350 deductible!
They will be really nice to start and then once you pay, they will ignore you, hang up on you and be dishonest. STAY AWAY!!!!
