Don Valley Stone

We hired Rauf and his crew from Don Valley Stone to extend our driveway and walkway to the front door. We couldn't be more pleased with the work. It looks great and water runs away from the house and down to the road perfectly. Extra care was taken to make sure the driveway section will last while parking cars on it. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I highly recommend them for quality work.

Don Valley extended an interlock sidewalk that they had previously completed two years ago and also built stone gardens around the house. Materials were match well and their workmanship is excellent. Great company and I would highly recommend them.

I am happy with the work completed by Don Valley Stone. It was imperative that I hire a skilled contractor to complete my backyard landscaping.

I hired Rauf from Don Valley Stone to fix an existing flag stone patio at the front entrance of my house , he listened to what I wanted done and agreed to fix it using the existing stones this helped keep costs down , he didn’t try and pressure me into doing a major more costly job , which I found , dealing with other contractors. He arrived on the schedule day with his team and proceeded to repair my patio he and his team worked very hard for the good part of a day , I was very pleased with the work done the patio looks great . Rauf is very professional and takes pride in his work I would hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to others .

Very pleased with Rauf and his crew at Don Valley Stone for doing an outstanding job transforming our old, unkempt patio and walkway into a modern outdoor retreat. Rauf was accommodating in selecting the right colour for our patio and a pleasure to deal with. We’ll look to them again if we need more stonework done around the house.

I reached out to Don Valley Stone to quote on some work we wanted to have done: 1) interlocking stone patio and walkway, 2) cement front walkway, and 3) cement slab base for a shed.

Rauf was quick to respond and come check out the job. Unlike others I reached out to, he was very helpful in helping give suggestions and provided thoughts on potential risks and ideas (drainage, layout, etc). We decided to go with him and the end result is fantastic! He doesn't subcontract and has his own crew that he works with on site so he can ensure quality!

[PROS]
-Excellent quality work: If something isn't right, he'll adjust it until it's right.
-Knowledgeable: he provided valuable guidance to make sure the end result would be optimal instead of "just doing what the client asked" which I've seen in the past.
-Very adaptable: we made changes to the design as we went and instead of slapping me with change request costs, he accommodated and sometimes footed the bill for the new material & labour required.
-Professional and polite: Rauf and his crew are great guys!
-No sub-contracting: Rauf works the job with his employee crew and doesn't sub out your job to other companies (other landscapers I contacted tried to do this to me without my knowing).
-Price: The price was reasonable. Not the cheapest but far from the most expensive even though job was top notch.
-Extra mile: they went the extra mile to ensure the job was amazing (eg added sod to areas that needed it or boxed in a garden even though neither were originally included on work order).

[CONS]
-The only problems I had with this team is their planning and communication. Some days I wouldn't even know if they were coming to the site or not and for someone like me who likes a well organized plan, I found this difficult. Definitely not a show stopper for working with them but I hope they take this feedback as an opportunity.

We interviewed quite a few contractors and I'm extremely happy we went with Done Valley Stone. I Highly recommend these guys!

Don valley stone did excellent job repairing my old deck and putting new fences and landscaping. Professional and hard working and the work was done on time. Cleaned up everything afterwards. Highly recommended.
