On Side Restoration Services Ltd.

Our toilet tank cracked and water leaked into the living room destroying almost all the carpet. This was the first time anything like this has ever happened so we were unsure of the restoration process. Onside did a good job of keeping us informed throughout every step of the process and they were pretty quick and efficient of getting the job done!

On the 31st of October our house was broken into, window smashed, everything gone through. We got home at about 2am to find the damage. By 4am On Side had someone at our house to board up the damaged glass area and clean up the majority of the glass. By 8am they had professional cleaners in to make sure that everything else was cleaned up.

Throughout the entire process of our claim On Side was there to discuss what needed to happen, what timeline to expect and guide us through the process.

I am extremely grateful for the service we received from everyone at On Side and their sub contractors. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

One of our waterlines blew off a water filter and created a children's spray park type situation in our basement which is where my home-based bakery is located. Onside was recommended by my insurance company and I am so happy they did. They showed up to take care of all of the damage caused by the water. When it came time to remove my bakery and install all new flooring they worked with me to ensure a painless and relatively stress free process from the small time frame to the dates we were able to actually shut down to let it happen. email and phone communication was prompt and professional. Everyone was kind and personable from the initial mop up crew to the finishing and painting people. Thank you for making my life a little less stressful. I don't know what the total bill was as my insurance company took care of it.

My hot water tank leaked into my bedroom. Our insurance company brought the Project manager Alex from On-side with him to look at the damages. Alex was very professional, great communication and helped us get our wet materials removed quickly so we could install a new tank and have hot water. With all the chaos I had going on with this damage they helped make my life just a little bit easier at the time! They were fast and did exactly what I had expected.

On Side Restoration Services is the restoration company that my insurance company uses...and man I'm I ever grateful for that! Both Wayne and Alex were superb in overseeing the job. They hired the trades needed for the repairs/replacement and made sure I was happy the whole way along. Great communication and very professional, if I ever have a problem in the future, I would not hesitate to hire this company.

I knew On Side did a good job with my brother's flood damage so they were the first I thought of when I had hail damage. Once my insurance assessment was done, things started rolling. Amber at On Side was helpful and kept me informed. Walkabout Enterprises was my subcontractor and they did a great job. I didn't expect much work to be done over the winter but they completed everything quickly, cold or not.

We were hit by the heavy rain in chestermere in July. Our insurance company sent onside to to the removal of and wet walls and carpet. The damage was not extreme but stil needed to be done. It is now the end of novemebr and they finally came back to start our basement. I have no idea how a company can leave a basement ripped up for 5+ months and not keep us in the loop of what's going on. They tried to fix as little as possible. One of their drywallers said he was told not to replace a section even though he highly recommended it. The contracted jelly was reluctant to fix it. They installed carpet today and scratched all the dry wall and pint we waited for for months. How are these guys in business and how does an insurance company recommend them?

I will be brief. When we had our fire, I was devastated and didn't really understand that we had choices about which company did our restoration. The insurance co. Recommended onside, so I made a snap decision and went with them. This was a very bad decision. I agree with many of the other reviewers here. Onside talked a good game but were terrible. The work was so bad, it was like it had been done by children. Our things were lost and damaged. We were told the job would be complete in 30 days. It is now 6 months later and I am still trying to track them down to complete the work. The worst aspect of our tragic fire was Onside restoration. spectacular incompetence from start to finish. Please, do some research before choosing a restoration company.

Long story short, Sears Home Services replaced my home's ageing cedar roof with a new ashfalt shingles. They tried to save a buck and use the existing 20 year old cedar spec flashing on my skylight and well, it leaked like hell has no furry come the fall weather and caused 15K worth of damage.

Now, this is where On Side comes in to play. Sears Home Services' insurance company commissioned On Side to repair my walls and ceiling in my entrance. They were very very very slow. The first guy that came to my house did drywall repair and painting. He did a very poor job finishing the drywall and I don't believe he even bothered to prime the patches in the wall as it left an awful sheen in direct sunlight that stuck out like a sore thumb. After a complaint to the project manager, he was sent back again and failed again. Eventually, On Side sent in their senior painter who did an excellent job and apologized for all the trouble.

At this point, It was all forgiven, however On Side failed to contact me to close the claim or see if I was happy with the end result. 9 months later, I was send a letter from them threatening collection which was shocking since they never send me a bill!

I called them up, explained the situation and they eventually acknowledged they failed to close the case and we settled.

Overall, I am not impressed with this company.

The demolition of the ceiling and cleanup were done quickly and efficiently. However trying to get them back to rebuild was where the trouble starts. It took just over 3 months of continuous calls with the same empty promise of " We will be there next week". When they finally showed up, the drywall guy was very nice and did a great job. However he was a one man crew doing it and it took several days for that portion. Then the painters came out and caused more damage than than fixed. They tried painting the walls, but left lines and only painted down to the bottom 1/4 of the wall leaving a very visable line of paint. Then the sprayed the ceiling and got white overspray all over various parts of the wall. I was up stairs when they were working and I could hear them talking and they actually said " just leave it, maybe he won't notice". He was referring to several mistakes they were both making. They scrape marks on the newly sprayed ceiling, sections of wall that were missed when painting, they dented the entry way wall with their ladders, and put several large deep scratches on another wall. As they cleaned up they left my front steps with white paint stains all over from the brushes, and paint dripping down the cans. I had them come back and "try" to fix the scratches, dents, and missed sections of wall. However they never showed up for several weeks and I ended up repainting and fixing it all myself.
I strongly recommend not using this company. They have no skilled trades people and will not stand behind the work they day. I will come do the work for you just so you don't hire this poor excuse for a company.
