This review will also serve as an open letter to the manager of Matco who did not return my telephone call. I am well aware of the fact that I did not purchase insurance for my move but I certainly would have thought that my business would have at least merited a return phone call. I have moved ten times and have used professional movers six times. Never have I had so much cumulative damage as I had with this move. There is almost no piece of furniture that has not been scratched, dented, abraded or chipped, including a small tear in the fabric of my sofa. My fully extended 107 foot long teak table top was not dismantled and properly wrapped, nor were my teak bed frames taken apart before they were loaded on to the truck. These pieces were loaded next to last and it likely necessitated shifting already loaded furniture in the truck. In the end these large pieces had to be dismantled when they reached their destination. To be fair, they were very good at moving some large pieces up flights of stairs without damage to walls or floors. My complaint solely is with what I feel was negligent packing. I feel Matco did not live up to its advertised expertise and would not recommend them as my choice of movers.
