Formed-Concrete Patio Replaces Deck
I had a large wooden deck (about 350 sq. ft.) for 21 years. Every 3 or 4 years, it was necessary to spend many days to stain the deck. The past few years, it was rotting in places and was feeling spongy. Last year, I even put duct tape over several areas of the floor, to prevent further decay.
This Spring, I looked for local companies that could tear down the old deck and put in a formed-concrete patio (about 200 sq. ft.).
My research led me to select the type of formed-concrete I wanted; and to narrow the choice of contractors to two. I received quotes from both companies, and I chose Caremore Landscaping because Miles, who supervised the project, was affable and seemed genuinely interested in my project. Pricing quoted was about the same from both companies. I was happy that they could schedule my project within a few weeks and would get it done within a week.
My project was started only 1 day late. The old deck was torn down and disposed of. Digging the patio foundation immediately began, and the quality materials and techniques used were in accordance with YouTube videos I had watched. The varying-size interlocking concrete pieces were laid in a very nice pattern, and the project was completed on time and on budget. The patio turned out as I had envisioned, with no surprises. Miles and his team put in topsoil and sods to cover the area not covered by concrete pieces, as per our agreement. Miles even dug up a few small rotted stumps near the patio, which caused problems for me in cutting grass - no extra cost. Caremore cleaned up the site afterwards, so we were able to start using the patio right away.
We are very happy with our no-maintenance patio, and would we will definitely use Caremore’s services in future.
