If looking to replace windows or doors with Clera, keep shopping.
Our experience with this company has been very disappointing and incredibly frustrating. We encountered a series of issues, and the project took an astonishing 10 months to complete due to a lack of competence and misleading information. If you are considering Clera and Jonathan approaches you, I strongly recommend you continue your search elsewhere.
Their website promotes "Trust Clera Windows + Doors for exceptional service and expertise for your home renovation needs." Unfortunately, our experience was far from exceptional, and their "expertise" left much to be desired. Below are the significant issues we faced:
The wrong product color was ordered and installed. Their response? "We can just paint it." We chose to wait for the correct window and color, which took an additional 24 weeks to resolve.
The trim around the windows was incorrect, leading to obvious paint lines. Their solution was to simply "paint around it." We opted for the larger trim we had originally agreed upon in October 2023, which took another 24 weeks to complete.
A damaged screen was installed, and it took 24 weeks for them to replace it.
The windows installed did not meet the promised Energy Rating, which significantly reduced our rebate.
We were informed that both the front door and patio door would qualify for a rebate, but ultimately received nothing due to the energy rating issues.
Because of the summer delays, window coverings could not be installed in time. This led to fading of our furniture and compromised our privacy.
There was a total lack of project management and quality control. Jonathan was absent during much of the installation, and the only communication we received was when payment was due, despite the project remaining unfinished.
We had to coordinate directly with the installer, who was excellent, to finalize the work. Interestingly, he expressed his unwillingness to work with Jonathan in the future.
There was no follow-up to ensure satisfaction or completion of the project; instead, we were met with requests for final payment and the usual "we apologize for the inconvenience."
To top it off, the paint on the inside of the front door is already peeling.
Ive had neighbours ask who we used for the renovations, and my answer is always to steer clear of Clera. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
