Caspian Renovation

Our experience with Caspian Renovations was very similar. At first, very professional and personable. But we noticed tiling jobs were bad, painting was bad, always asking for more money because he lost the money we gave him, TWICE, and he didn't know how it happened. He was also going to be evicted from his apartment and needed the money. We thought that we would never get the vanities and counter-tops we paid through him since he "lost" the money. We were ready to kick him out and take a loss until he promised to deliver. He wanted to do other jobs in our house and asked for an advance before he started. We didn't do it! He also did the wiring by himself and now I am worried if it was done correctly. The shower head and faucet did not line up with the bath-tub drain because he screwed up and we made him correct it. Screwed up the tile in the process. The shower head in the new shower enclosure did not allow the door to open and we had to scramble to find a curved shower spout so the shower door can open. Committed dumb mistakes that he should have been wary of if he had any experience. The washrooms look much better than before he started, and no job is ever perfect. However, it was torture wondering if he would deliver and if he would stop asking for more money. We think he had financial problems, which means, we had to bear the brunt of his personal problems. We will never risk the embarrassment by recommending him to our friends since this behavior seems to be his MO.

Had him do a bathroom reno. The worst tiling job I have ever seen. He see's the crooked and uneven tiling throughout and he says he can fix it for another $800. If you know something is wrong, how can you charge to fix your own mistake??? In the contract he said he would get an electrician to do all the electrical but he ends up doing it himself and has no clue what he's doing. He installed potlights that aren't ic rated and moved all the insulation away so now there's no insulation on top of my shower. I had to pay someone else to get that fixed because he wouldn't do it. Installing non ic rated pot lights in an attic is very dangerous and can
cause fires. He constantly begs for money asking for it in advance saying he is getting evicted from his house trying to make you feel sorry and very uncomfortable. He starts out very professional but gets really sloppy as the job goes on. He would rest all his tools on top of my toilet seat, scratched it all up and asked me to get a new one and he would pay me but he never did. I spoke with 2 other people who had work done by him afterwards and it's the exact same story. Feel free to contact me and I can show you his sloppy workmanship. I've been trying to call him to pay for the toilet seat which cost $80 (toto toilet) and to fix the tile work but ofcourse, no answer
