Quote for work

I asked for a quote for repairs and his quote was reasonable. Due to other reasons I had to postpone work. I have known him for years and he can be trusted.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

What should've started like a normal home reno got ground to a halt when trades stopped showing up. Site supervisor confirmed John wasn't paying the trades. How can this be? I just paid the guy almost $100,000 as the first installment!?!?!

Electricians started out great but they reported that they couldn't pull their upgrade permit since there wasn't a building one! Start the alarm bells...

Things got worse when 2 BBB complaints appeared online.

And a fellow client reached out to me saying there place is in ruins with over $250K paid an their place over 6-months behind. Fake invoices, threats, no communications and the whole shebang.

I terminated the contract but have yet to see any money returned in 2-years! It's lawsuit time which just means more money...

It seems 2017/2018 was a pivotal year for this guys to start ripping people off left and right!

Do a search on the justice institute to find all the lawsuits against this company!

DO NOT TRUST THEM

This never happened at all like this and if I have the client correct as no name was given here on the review, then we started the reno but explained to the client that we had two site supervisors and one was stealing from our company and clients, and that person was the site super on their site. We had repeated meetings with evidence and made every attempt to right the situation, but the client would not listen and continued to side with the very person that was stealing both from us and them, and at that point we could do nothing further since they would not listen to reason. The project was well underway and we had done quite a bit of work outside with the repair of an underground service, architectural drawings, designing and ordering all of the cabinets and doors, and had done all of the demo & framing & most of the rough-in's inside. Plus we had originally started by doing the work in the garage and have that completed, so that the client could store their stuff in there during the reno.

House Renovation

Please ask the Contractor for a minimum of 3 previous jobs. Speak to previous customers in person and go and see their projects.
It is incredibly easy for a contractor to put a Lien on your home in BC.
It will take 2 - 5 years and costly legal bills to have it removed.
Your home is your biggest asset, protect yourself and do your homework.
Have your lawyer look over the contract before you sign.
Don't be bullied into taking down your review until the Lien/CPL is either off your property or all legal recourses are finalized.

This woman seemed like a nice person who had recently had become a single mother after her divorce, and as such asked me to help her do her reno after buying her new home so that she could get custody of her kids. I designed the reno and had the architectural drawings done and did her estimate based on those and the contract was signed off. We were well underway into the reno when she mentioned that she had run out of money but that she was getting money from the bank and would be able to continue paying her draws as scheduled to catch things up, and I was hesitant but she begged and begged me to do it as she needed to get her kids back as she had lost custody do to her mental state. I agreed to help her out of the goodness of my heart, only to find out that she conspired to this purposely to get out of paying her bills and so once she got the money from the bank approved she told me to get off of her job site and then we had to pursue legal action in attempts to get the money from her to pay the bills from the reno. She then finished the reno herself as we were well passed drywall at that point, and so she is the type of person that is dishonest beyond belief and took advantage of people who genuinely tried to help her when she said she needed it most. This is why people have to pay for gas first now as people are willing to do anything just to steal $30 of gas from another person to get ahead, just like this client.

Venting for range

I needed venting done for my range on the outside of my house. They had to put a hole in the ceiling and through the cabinets to get it outside. They did a very, very good job! And it was done in 2 days. As a surprise, they had the city come and inspect it and everything was perfect.
