Our garage doors are pretty old and clunky. One of them has been extremely difficult to open since we moved here 3 years ago, so we weren't even using it. We knew we wanted an automatic opener installed and figured we'd have the door fixed at the same time. Two other companies came to give us quotes: one told us we needed brand new doors and that the 'broken' one couldn't be fixed, and the other company told us we couldn't even have an opener installed due to the presence of a loft/storage area above our doors. We actually gave up until we saw Whitby Garage Doors at the Durham Home Show and asked them to come check it out.

Not only did they reassure us the door could be fixed AND an opener installed, they also gave us pricing options for new doors but let us know that it really wasn't necessary and ours were in good condition. Their honesty and non-pushy approach really impressed us.

They came today and installed our belt-drive opener and fixed the door in under 2 hours. It works great, it's super quiet and most importantly we now have use of the newly fixed garage door we've been avoiding for 3 years! I wish we'd know about this company sooner, we would have saved ourselves so much trouble. We definitely recommend this company and are very satisfied with their customer service as well. From the time we're made the call to the end of service all we saw was professionalism and knowledge in the work. Brandon Sloan told us he will be at our place at 7.30 am and he was ! On the dot !!! He walked in and within minutes started working, explaining us all the way on what he was doing. Phoned this company about the job on an older garage with a low ceiling, and me being a tall person, I was concerned whether I could install an opener and new door with enough clearance to walk under (without ducking) once installed. Chad the owner came the next day and advised me that it might be tight and would check with his installer. Brandon the installer came a few hours later and inspected the garage, and said he could do it with the head clearance I wanted. He seemed very knowledgeable and reassured me that he could make this work. I decided to use Whitby Garage Doors for this job and am glad I did. In less then 2 weeks Brandon was back and within 3 hours had the job finished and I have the head clearance I want. He mentioned he had to install the rollers a different way then the usual to make it work for my garage. The product works and looks great.
I also bought the internet gateway for this opener which was easy to setup and works well also.

My garage door did not open one morning and after checking it I realized the spring was broken. I called Whitby Garage Doors and in about 30 minutes they sent Nick, who is a really nice guy and did a great job. He even lubed all the moving parts, adjusted the chain and the door at no extra cost.
