Allure Construction

READ THIS BEFORE HIRING ALLURE TO BUILD YOUR DREAM HOME. I hired Allure to renovate my home into my dream home, under the promise that it would be done within 4 weeks. Other contractors had been recommended to me but their timeliness were double, so I went with Allure who promise the "best quality service" and have been utterly sorely disappointed. My project has taken more than 3 times the quoted time, has come in over budget (without any explaination, despite me asking more than 10 times in writing and in unreplied voice messages), there has been no Manger on site for months at a time, the crew left for a 2 week long Christmas break without informing me that there would be one and left me a MASSIVE pile of garbage in my living room when their contract explicitly says they will remove debris from site.

Not only did it take them more than 6 weeks to get a permit to start construction but it has been more than 8 weeks since they started and they are nowhere near done. Darren (the Executive Director) hasnt been to the site in over a month and he has no other representatives who can give me updates on site. He says that he does "not need to come babysit trades they are there doing their jobs as directed", but then says that jobs are done when they aren't and Noone is able to answer me when I ask when certain things will be done.

Now they're saying they won't proceed without e paying another $30k. He says they'll put a lien on my house if I don't pay.
I've been very reasonable, offering to pay by service or by week, but I can't go another 12 weeks and not hear or see anyone to tell me what's happening.
