Bathrooms and kitchen tiles

When we first hired Justin and his crew we were hoping to have a reliable, competent and trustworthy contractor for our new house renovation which included two full baths, kitchen floor and powder room plus a series of small jobs and fixes.
His approach at the beginning was quite pleasant and his work looked promising.
However, as we walked through the core part of the renovation, many issues begun to surface.
The schedule was very loosely respected. Both my husband and I have a very demanding work schedule and we needed to have a reliable timeframe for the work.
There were several days were only one person would show up and this only for a couple of hours. There were weeks were nobody actually did show up. He justified all these absences with different excuses every time.
This resulted in a huge delay on the original schedule. And of course all this caused us stress while we were living in the midst of the renovation.
Towards the end of the work, many things were left unfinished, such as the light fixtures, the moldings, door nobs, electrical outlet covers, and the list goes on.
Price seemed competitive at first but given the quality of the job and the materials, definitely even this aspect was not positive at all.
The tiles in kitchen were not leveled properly, the light fittings in the main bathroom were missing.

Last but not least - and this is probably the most disappointing part - only 10 months after the renovation, we found a leakage in the ceiling coming from the shower in the main bathroom upstairs. The pic is attached. We found out that the shower base was cracked underneath and not installed properly, which resulted in having to replace the shower completely at a considerable loss.

We called him to notify him and he promised to get back to us, but nothing concrete was ever done, not even a visit to assess the issue at our place.
We kept waiting patiently for almost a month hoping to fix a problem that should have been taken care of in a timely manner. Finally, we had no choice but to ask someone else to take care of the issue and repair the damage.

So to whomever is reading this review, I hope our experience will prove to be useful in your decision on whether to hire this contractor. On our end, we would never hire him as a contractor anymore.

Bathroom Reno

We met Justin after contracting a company in Montreal to do our bathroom renovation. Justin's company was brought on as the sub-contractor. As we started the project, we quickly discovered that Justin was our preferred point person, was more trustworthy and easier to communicate with than the original contractor. Therefore he essentially coordinated the project for us.
Justin is honest, genuine and communicates well. He was dedicated to our project and explained each step (from demolition all the way through to finishing). Each day he came, he explained the goal of the day and what would be achieved. We chose a difficult bath to install, and Justin skillfully problem solved to adjust the plumbing and make the bath fit without additional cost. Justin's team kept the work site clean at the end of each day, and always called me to explain work done that day.
I felt Justin was genuine with his pricing and explained any extra costs incurred. The original contractor (not Justin) pulled numbers out of the air when costing things, without explanation. Justin however was fair and explained evrerything.
Quality of work was very good. Small details could have been a little more tidy (finishing) but overall I was very happy with the quality.
I would certainly recommend Justin and his team for a bathroom project.
