After a year of searching for the perfect house in the perfect neighbourhood, we decided we already had that. Except our house was stuck in the 80’s. We were referred to Carmax by friends and couldn’t be happier! From start to finish the whole house Reno went beautifully and efficiently. Carl, Jenn, Paul, Leo, Brandon, Triple 6, Livewire, and all the Carmax team did an impeccable job. They gave us the updated “Traditional Contemporary” look we were looking for.
Thanks to Carmax we now have the perfect home!!

We contacted Carmax to design and install an Ikea kitchen. Two different friends had used them and had very good experiences. Initial meetings went well. Project management is very strong with Carmax - not only did the work happen when we were told/expected it to happen, it was also of a very high quality, with a hands-on on-site manager (well done, Paul!). All the normal hiccups were dealt with quickly and to full satisfaction. The end result is a as close to perfect as we could imagine. I would not hesitate to recommend Carmax or to call them for my next project.

Do not use this company .
I paid 270 (for up to three hrs of kitchen design) which took an hour. The design was wrong . I told carmax . They corrected it . A new sink was on the intial quote. I asked about buying the correct faucet and was told that I would have to buy the sink and faucet myself even though they quoted me a sink . if I had not caught this I would have ended up with the wrong size sink .I was then told that they would give me a quote update once I picked my counter and backsplash . I waited . I contacted them and they said they were waiting for the suppliers to get back to them . I waited . I contacted them again and they said that the previous quote was the final quote. I mentioned that they said they would update the quote when they heard back from the suppliers and could they update the quote and change it from quartz to granite and they told me again that was the final quote... even though the original was for quartz ... I picked granite ...
Very bad customer service . A total waste of time from start to finish

Our reno was more than we could have asked for. Preparation was the key! We worked with Justin (the Reno Manager) for six months prior to the beginning of the job, ensuring that flooring, tiling, granite, etc was all purchased and on site ready for the job to begin. We then left on holiday, and 10 weeks later arrived back to our beautiful 'new' home. We find each and every day living in our new space is better than the day before. We felt very comfortable putting our faith in Carmax, and they certainly did not disappoint! We can't say enough about a job well done!

hired this company to install my kitchen cabinet and after the first meeting we decided to do a complete kitchen renovation. way too many people involved not communicating with each other. wasn't able to get people to return phone calls and answer questions. two years later I'm having problems with my electrical and I can't get someone to return my phone calls.didn't feel the company was very interested in my project definitely feel that way now

Thought I would try Ikea recommended company. The first layout was wrong as he didn't include a main window, forgot the most important item was that I wanted a hood installed to be vented outside, it took a week to get back to me and he really didn't look at the house, only gave me price. Seemed not very interested in our project.

We hired Carmax because they are the installer that Ikea recommends to install their cabinets.

1) First problem was the estimate itself. We had our kitchen measured on May 8, paid for it the same day. Waited and waited for an estimate, finally called them to ask for it and received it May 16.

2) Scheduled the installation for July 15 (Monday). Appointment wasn't confirmed, time for installer's arrival wasn't provided. Again, I contacted to find out the time/confirm appointment on July 8 (Wednesday).

3) Company sent a relatively new installer to install our kitchen. I have no problem with a new person working on our house, everyone has to start somewhere. But PROVIDE HIM WITH REGULAR HELP AND SUPERVISION.

4) Installer took four full days to finish the installation, originally told that for the size of our kitchen, would take 3 days max. There were 13 cabinets total. Several issues with cabinet installation, but MAJOR problems with countertop install, including rough, unfinished cuts, uneven and unlevel seams.

To their credit, Carmax sent an excellent, experienced installer that fixed all the problems to our satisfaction. Leo was fantastic! However, why a new installer was left to his own devices is beyond me.

When I asked why a straight cut instead of a miter cut was made on our countertop install, I was told they don't do that type of cut because they are not a countertop installation company. Well, then DO NOT OFFER THE SERVICE! Or if you do, be upfront and let customers know.

Overall, a mediocre to bad experience from the pre-installation to actual installation. The only saving grace was the amazing installer that fixed the mistakes made by the initial installer. We have another Ikea kitchen to install and will definitely NOT hire Carmax again for that kitchen. Or any other job for that matter.

I would highly recommend Carmax Consulting, the did an excellent job on on our IKEA kitchen installation. They came out and reviewed the kitchen layout and made some very good suggestions. The installer was very professional, on time and efficient. He even had a great idea on how to solve a problem with the venting over the stove within the cabinet. On a whole, I was very impressed! Well done.

doining excelent work on a cust0m complete kitchen reno from naked walls to complete cabinets new appliance install and our home is more of a challenge do to the fact that is the only asemetrical pyramid house in the city

This company has been chosen by Ikea , as the company they encourage , for putting up kitchens. We had one of their workers come in , and he was just one person but did the work so quickly , but in a good way , that it was as if their was a whole crew , very polite and professional , I would recomend this company for putting up your Ikea kitchen anytime.
