List of electrical repairs

Community Electric was prompt courteous and professional. From he laundry list of items we had they explained what they thought they could and could not do in our pre-paid 4 hour window. They managed to complete one of the more complex requests of running wires (two) below the living room floor, through he basement ceiling and back through the living room so we didn't have to string them all around our house.
They also moved a wall hung heating/AC thermostat that a different electrician claimed could not be moved. They completed that move in about 20 minutes with little mess or trouble.

Panel wiring

I had just bought a house and was having electrical billing problems because my meters were wired to the panels incorrectly.
Vlad was punctual, thorough, and professional in diagnosing the problem. I called on a Saturday and we made an appointment for the following Monday. He presented me with a few options, and we decided on the best one together. At no time did I feel pressured; Vlad was very good about explaining the work he was proposing.
I had to leave town for a week for a planned trip, but when I returned and called Vlad, he was able to book me for the very next morning.
He was punctual, thorough, and professional in fixing the problem with my panels. He updated the panel schedules after he finished separating out the circuits so I could see where all of the circuits were now. He worked steadily and left no mess for me to clean up.
I'm thrilled!

Fuse Box

I was very pleased with Community Electric. They did an excellent job. They spoke to me before they actually did the job and they explained everything. There were a few things that I needed to do that I didn't know about, like the new box. They actually recommended all the services and I went ahead with that. I was very satisfied. Anytime they had a question, they would call me just to confirm what they were going to do. They made sure I knew what was happening besides what I already knew. I would be definitely calling them when I have more money to do more stuff. Their prices were reasonable. I am sure, with the job they did, I had no problems with it.

receptacles & switches

Vlad called up after I contacted them by email 30 min earlier, when I called 4 other electricians who never called me back. He gave me an estimate for the work, and scheduled with me to come back a few days later to do the actual work. He showed me the shoddy work that had been done previously. It took a 4 hours to get it all done, including snaking some new wiring through the walls, and replacing receptacles and switches. And he cleaned up nicely afterwards.

Home rewiring

I had been looking for a electrical company to rewire my home for months and months and finally found one that was honest, was priced right and did not talk to me like I was a stupid. Vlad the owner was great. He spent a lot of time walking through the house with me and explaining exactly how it was going to go. He listened to all of my concerns.
Along the way, there were a few small problems, but Vlad was always available by phone or in person to get things straightened out. The guys that did the work were wonderful!! They all very nice and polite They always answered my questions. They did a great job.

Basement outlet

We had an outlet in the basement that was not working. It was important because the sump pump and modem for the phone were connected to it. We called Andrew on a Monday night, and he was at the house the next morning. We also had him replace a dimmer switch in the hall that was not working. It turned out that it was a simple fix in the basement. We appreciated the fact that Andrew was here so quickly, especially because we needed to feel secure about the sump pump operating properly.
Everything was done quickly and efficiently. We will definitely call on Community Electric in the future.

Rewiring

The electrician (Vlad) was very nice and knowledgeable about his trade. he gave me some good advice and did the best that he could with what he had to work with (my electrical wiring in this house is all messed up!). he went out of his way to let me know at all times what he had found and how he intended to fix it. he gave me a detailed briefing at the end of the job as to all the steps he had taken to alleviate my electrical problems. nice guy as well.

Short circuit

At 1:30 am we heard a pop and most of the electric in the house went out. When we tried to slip the switch on the circuit breaker we were unable and heard a buzz. At 8:00am we called the electrician who had performed services for us before. Unfortunately, due to the holiday, they were very busy and were not sure if they would be able to take on another job, but we were informed to call back later just in case. I looked on Kijiji and found Community Electric. We called and left a message with the service. No more than five minutes later, we received a call back. The technician arrived at our home promptly and was very professional and considerate. He located the short, fixed the problem and cleaned up afterwards. If we ever have an electrical issue again, we will definitely call Community and will certainly recommend them to our neighbors.

Track lighting in a kitchen

The workers were about 25 minutes late, but they called to tell me they would. Due to constuction in the area, they had a tough time finding parking, but did manage to park. They showed up with the proper supplies, had drop clothes and even wore booties to avoid scratching the hardwood floors. They went right to work The cut out for the box was position the wrong way, but Vlad made a quick cut in the ceiling, re positioned the box and did a great job masking the opening cause by the original cut out.
They finished the job in an hour, cleaned up everything.
Community Electric exemplified is what service should be. Professional, friendly, communicative.
I would highly recommend Community Electric to anyone who needs work done.

Burnt wiring

I called and left a message. A lady from Community Electric got back to me in minutes, set a time to come and said they'd call to confirm. Later they said they were ahead of schedule and could they come earlier. But I'd already re-arranged my schedule, and they said, No problem, they'd keep the original times. They did. An electrician and a helper came out. I described the problem (Burnt wiring on the first floor), they traced the problem (it wasn't obvious to me, but it was to them) and corrected it. There was some work that had been done by the contractor who renovated the house that I'd thought was substandard, and the specific problem I had was almost certainly due to that. So they cleaned up some of the other deficient work during the time they were here.
