R&L Professional Driveway Maintenance

I hired this company after they made lots of promises in Feb. 2014 about things they could fix for me and a lot of them were supposedly "free". The owner right away starting saying he had bought the materials and wanted payment up front. I trusted him at the time but found as time passed, not to trust him. They did some work but left a lot undone. Once he finds that you cannot pay anymore the work stops getting done and the attitude gets worse. He is not licensed to do driveways in Toronto and owes me about $10,000.00 at least. This includes $900.00 for the cost of 2 garbage bin removals that I had to pay for since his credit card bounced. Keep in mind I had prepaid for this. He also owes me for the driveway cost that I prepaid for (about $7,800.00) since he is not licenced to do this. He owes me about $2000.00 for porch railings as his boys cut my old ones off and never put the new ones on (I also prepaid on that). I have had to hire reputable companies to do the driveway and railings at extra cost to me. He phones and makes dates but never shows up and has been playing this game from April to August - date changing. Moral of the story: do NOT hire this company. They operate in bad faith and don't finish the work. If nothing else, do NOT pay them the full amount up front.
I have totally given up on them and am writing this as a warning to others potential customers to give them a wide berth.
