Mike and his team completely renovated our main floor (kitchen, family room, hallway, dining room) in addition to two staircases and two washrooms. Mike was very professional and respectful throughout this project. His ability to keep the house clean daily made it easy for our entire family maintain a daily routine. While there were big decisions to be made, it was the attention to detail that impressed us. Mike is passionate about his work. He is approachable and constantly maintains regular communication with the homeowners throughout the project.

Being in the home renovation industry for over 20 years and having experienced dealing with many general contractors I was more skeptical than most when faced with looking for a team that could pull my project together in the limited time that I had. Once I met with Mike and we went over my timeline, budget and scope of work I knew I had hired the right team. We recently completed our second renovation project with Mike and are extremely excited with the results. Mike renovated our basement over 5 years and we continue to receive compliments on the space. We added a kitchen and Mike worked with our kitchen manufacturer to ensure the space was ready for the kitchen installation. We continue to enjoy the space and have had many family and friend gatherings in the basement. My kids love the space too and have enjoyed a few parties themselves (no parents allowed-lol).

Most recently we embarked on an even bigger project; renovating the kitchen. The discussion started with replacing a few cracked floor tiles. Then we decided since we are replacing the tiles, we might as well replace the kitchen (25 years old but still in good condition). Over the next few months the scope of the project continued to expand with Mike’s recommendations. He definitely saw the potential for the space before we did (ie. lets take a wall down here, lets add a beam here,….) —things we didn’t think of on our own. So after some long discussions, we said YES to a full out renovation of the first floor.

The results have been phenomenal; Mike helped us create a large open space which resulted in a kitchen much larger than we initially had planned on. He brought in professional trades that got the job done efficently.

And let’s not forget the staircase—“no way” we said to adding that in. However, once we saw how beautiful and modern the space was turning into, we couldn’t leave those builder stairs as is; we had the stairs sanded and re-stained, as well as the family room, living and dining floors to match. The space definitely looks complete now. We continue to recommend Mike’s contracting services to our family and friends; many of which have already hired Mike for their own projects.

We just had an amazing, high quality renovation experience and are so thrilled with Mike and his team at DiRenzo group. We instantly felt we were in good hands when we met Mike. Mike and his team were amazing! My house looks incredible. They took down 3 walls and had to put up a new support beam. They took down my brick woodburning fireplace and converted it to a modern gas burning fireplace. I had a whole new kitchen installed with an island. They were very respectful and tidy. The site was always left very tidy, which was incredible since I was living upstairs. Thank you Mike and Ariel. I love my house!

We were thrilled with the quality of work including framing, tiling, insulation and design. We were also especially pleased with the customer service that the Di Renzo group provided and would highly recommend him for future projects.

We were referred to Michael of the DiRenzo Group we when looking for a contractor to construct our basement. Michael was not only our contractor but he also offered suggestions to the design layout via consulting with us to understand our requirements.

Michael set out realistic timelines based on the work effort and kept us informed of the status. We had daily meetings to ensure that both his team and our decisions on finishes we aligned.

This was the first renovation that my wife and I had gone through and Michael ensured that we are very happy with the results. We will definitely ask Michael to help us with our next renovation.

We engaged DiRenzo Group to renovate our basement and replace our backyard fence in September 2015. The aim of the renovation was to update the entire downstairs area, create additional living space and storage and to enhance overall functionality. We also wanted to improve the heat retention and insulation in the house.

Mike delivered on all fronts and more! He offered great value and fair pricing with the work he and his crew did. We found him to be flexible, easy to work out any concerns with, accessible and accommodating. He scheduled his projects such that he did not have them all going at the same time which enabled him to be on the jobsite every day and stayed on top of the job as it progressed. That plus the everyday communication as to what was to take place next and notifying us of potential issues were very much appreciated.

His crew, headed by Tony and Ariel, were efficient, reliable, punctual, and always respectful of our space. They kept our place clean and safe throughout the project. Mike mostly brought in tradespeople (plumber, electrician, tile layer etc.) whom he knew well and is used to working with. All inspections and code compliance certification were done and issued with hardly any holdups. Whenever there were emerging needs or surprises (which any renovation project can bring up), he proved himself to be responsive and was quick to resolve such to our satisfaction.

He worked with us to keep the costs within our budget. The only extras we paid for were upgrades and changes from our original plan which we requested and approved. The custom-built vanity (which we were responsible for) was delayed so the project went a bit over schedule. Once delivered, Mike and his crew were back in our house to finish the remaining work in no time.

Now we have a bright, inviting lower level where we expect to spend many a winter day for family time or entertaining – plus a solid and sturdy backyard fence all set for our next summer bbq! We will continue to pass his name around to friends who need an honest, reliable, licensed and insured general contractor.
