Modern Impressions General Contracting

Modern Impressions was highly recommended to me by a friend. I contacted Josh and he met with me almost immediately to review and price the job - a full bathroom project (shower, tiles, vanity, fixtures, electrical, plumbing, window, etc.).

Easy to work with, flexible, excellent at listening to the customer (me) and also offering ideas to improve the project, design and layout.

Beautiful job with every aspect of the project. Went above and beyond to make it perfect and to ensure that I was happy.

Excellent communication from Josh and his team throughout the whole project. Also good follow-up after to make sure we were happy with results. Josh even dropped by a few weeks after completion to see if bathroom was functioning as we had hoped.

I first met Josh when I was getting quotes to lay flagstone in my backyard. Every masonry person said they couldn’t do it. Finally one person said, “Call Josh at Modern Impressions, he is the only person who can do that”. And he did.
This summer, 2015, I hired Josh again from Modern Impressions to redo my basement bathroom, and like many renovation projects – it kept getting larger and larger. Josh was very accommodating, I.E. one Friday night I decided that the old kitchen tiles needed to be replaced as well, I called Josh, and he was removing all the old tiles Saturday morning. Josh has great ideas that make spaces work better – changing placement of appliances to moving light switches. And as a bonus, his work is very clean.
The totally renovated basement is stunning, and Josh is great to work with.
Without a doubt, I will be using him in the spring of 2016 for my upstairs bathroom renovation.

I asked Josh to provide a quote on a full bathroom renovation, because he’d come highly recommended by a friend of mine. Everything about the process was smooth, swift, and top-notch.

Josh responded to my initial query soon after I’d been in touch. He visited the site for a quote within days. The quote was clear, fair and had no surprises to it. The only increase in cost came when I’d selected smaller tiles, which took more time.

As I was out of town the entire process, Josh worked with me to select all fixtures etc. It was a quick and easy process, and I appreciated his advice on purchases. The work itself went very well. He’d estimated seven days, but was able to complete the entire renovation in six days, with minimized inconvenience.

Throughout the process, Josh kept in clear communication with me, with daily updates and photos and questions. He took the initiative on certain aspects to the renovation, installing a new electrical heater and thermostat that I’d forgotten to request.

For obvious reasons, bathroom renovations can be full of unpleasant surprises and delays, but Josh worked to ensure that there were limited cost over-runs, and saw the job completed on time. I’m already discussing other renovation projects with Josh and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I had a deadline for a kitchen reno and the guy who was supposed to do the tiling work was being unreliable. I posted an ad on Kijiji which is VERY risky because you get low skilled hack job, trades showing up. I found Josh and after a few brief exchanges over text and phone I felt comfortable with him. Josh came to the job site for 8am just as planned and performed his task with diligence. When the end of the day came around, he was not yet complete the job due to a number of admittedly tricky cuts in great nunbers; he did not ask for a cent, he simply confirmed the time to show up tomorrow to finish the job. This was the first time I used Modern Impressions K&B and it definitely will not be the last.
