Shopped around for replacement countertops for our kitchen. Hoa was very helpful, patient and fair. The pricing was very competitive and the quality is great. His installers took care of everything and the new granite countertop looks amazing. Would highly recommend!

We went with HGB stone for their fair pricing and the great customer service. The lead time they can offer is amazing, from the time we chose our stone to the day of installation and completion was less then a week. Their measurement techniques are unconventional but seem to work great as our slabs fit perfectly. They also go above and beyond to ensure the seams are where you want them and well hidden. We did encounter a small error in one of the pieces in which the installer called the work shop and had a new piece cut and delivered before the end of the installation. They truly care about their work and their customers happiness, a pleasure to work with and a great finished product.

After checking out several suppliers the HGB people were selected. Right from our first visit to their showroom they were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Pricing was broken down so we knew what was labor and what the materials cost.
They delivered to tight timelines and were flexible when working with other trades and their schedules.
Friendly staff and you always felt you were getting their full attention and customer satisfaction was important to them.

I checked out many granite countertop providers and decided to use HGB Stone because of their pricing and transparency. They were the ONLY company that actually separated the cost of the granite from the labour/service charge.

I was a bit nervous because they were the lowest quote. As an engineer, I asked a lot of questions and pressed them on many details and measurements - they were very accommodating.

They worked with my finishing carpenter to ensure the granite was properly put on top of the undermounted Ikea apron sink which was not supposed to be used as an undermount sink. The result was fabulous and there was no added cost from HGB Stone.

I would have no problem recommending HGB Stone given their pricing, quality of work, and patience.

Dealing with this company is a huge mistake!

The owner Andy Vo promises you will be happy with the work, then stands behind NOTHING.
* They cut the sink opening too small and will not fix it.
* There are marks on the Granite that he said would come out but after two months are still there.
*Advertised a free sink with purchase, then said "that was an old ad" even though it was still on his web site.
* Attempted to get more money from me then was in our contract.
* Cut the stove opening in the kitchen and made a mess that was unbelievable.
* Arrived at our home with to few men to lift the granite and expected us to help lift it and move it into place.

I would recommend dealing with another company.

I recently replaced a large island and counter tops in kitchen and bathrooms with granite cut and installed with HGB. The island was not a regular shape and required most of a complete slab. The remainder was used for a counter top in the downstairs power room. The kitchen counter tops were a different granite and were cut for the new SST sink and our glass cook top. They did a super job of cutting these pieces so as not to have a prominent seam. You would have to hunt to see it. The remainder of this granite was used for two other bathroom counter tops. We visited the granite supplier they suggested and had good experience there. Picked out the slabs and it was cut and delivered and installed by HGB within the week. They did an excellent job. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. They did a really good job of installing the new sinks and they cleaned up after their work was finished as well. We can certainly recommend this company highly. I am satisfied with the price too. It came in lower than another quote we had.

HGB has installed the counter we wanted. It looks great with a leather/honed finish (which I know HGB now discourages) and a broken/rough edge on the front of the kitchen island, an under-mount sink, and a tough granite stone with a softer honed/leather finish that we were going for. It's tough as granite with the look of black slate. Certainly the counter install, the counters themselves would rate at least a very good.

I would be remiss to mention that it was a process to get this was longer than we wanted as it did involve the BBB and a replacement of the first counters that were installed almost seven months prior - this was the bump down to good. I will say that I suspect that if we'd simply gone for a normal highly polished/shiny finish the team would have gotten it right the first time, though once our contract was signed and paid for (including the ~11% extra paid for something Andy forgot to put in the quote while he was dealing with what I'll simply call staff challenges at the time), we were even more set on the honed finish. The new Assistant Manager (Linda) was instrumental in getting this resolved - once she joined HGB in June the resolution was swift. The months before she joined were less so... so when you go in, ask for Linda and she'll take good care of you.

The good news, they now know how to do a good job on a honed finish. That said, the time taken in following up to get the resolution leaves me unable to rate the overall experience very good or excellent.

I got referral info. from a friend in Calgary about a small counter tops company. I was hesitated at first but decided to give it a try because of my trusted friend. I got quotes from major home improvements stores and 2 other Edmonton specialized companies, Hgbstone price is the lowest, they also gave me an upgrade to premium granites without any additional cost. They spent about 3 hours at the house to make measurements on Wednesday and the following Saturday they had the counter tops ready to install. The work is excellent and the products are beautiful, better looking than in the attached photos (kitchen + 3 math rooms). Highly recommended
