I called this gentleman who agreed to come and quote me the same day.
He arrived at time we agreed to.
He quoted me on the job, price escalated per area that needed to be fixed, rubber filler, and asphalt. He assured me that his price was competitive and his work was guaranteed! He provided a written guarantee.
As luck would have it, he was able to do the job that day. Needed to purchase some product.. and would return..
I opted not to get any other quotes ... my mistake!
He did the job and assured me that it would last 2 years or more-esthetically it did not look great, but I was glad that the holes were repaired.
We stayed off the driveway for 4 days to ensure the sealant and rubber had set... unfortunately.. the area where the rubber was laid... was a gooey mess and came into my house obviously someone's shoe.. leaving the area exposed again.
I notified Matt immediately that the area required re-application, and being guaranteed ... accepted that he would be here sometime before Fri to fix it- it was a Tues.
He did not show up, I called and left a message, he responded, apologized and said " I forgot" again reassured me he would come the following week.. again a no show. Contacted him again and he replied he would be there the following week... again no show. Contacted him the next week and his response was he had a big job in Hamilton and would contact me in a week and a half ... I never heard from him again.. I did send him one last message this past weekend... and of course there was no response...
I suggested that he should not offer a guarantee if he has no intention of honouring it.
I should have been more careful in my decision, I have never given a bad review on homestars... and I should have looked at home stars for someone who is reliable and honest.. his warranty guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on!
