Had a deck and gazebo done last year. A year later it's a rickety mess. There's more to building a deck then just using screws and nails. No proper joist hangers were used and now had to call in a proper deck company to reinforce the shoddy workmanship with proper brackets and mending plates because the gazebo roof sagged so badly.
The unqualified labour he used seemed to think breaking off the exposed corners of concrete footings with a sledge hammer was a good idea. That is until the entire top of the footing broke off. Had I not seen them do it they would have just left the beam hanging over the now demolished footing. The footings were also not poured in the correct spots for the Gazebo leaving some of the posts almost hanging off the edge of the footing.
All of those website photos may look nice but the construction techniques are sloppy and poor. Just a lot of toe nailing and wood screws. No heavy fasteners used at all for the main structure. This deck was a complete waste of money.

I know I'm not the best and I didn't say I am also wood tends to warp in the heat and the wind blows hard in winter time. if you'd like you could contact me danny and we can straght the gazebo out 6478296991. thank you for the work and have yourself a great summer.
