Ryan and his team build our deck within timing and budget. I feel lucky we found them as it was probably our best experience out of our history dealing with various contractors. We enjoyed working with Ryan from the stage of quote submission to finishing the project.His crew was unbelievable very hard worker, clean and respectful. This company treats your home like it's their own. We would recommend them to everyone!

We did lot of renovation in our house, Ryan is the best contractor we ever meet. He always listen with our need, and give us professional advice. He always show up on time, clean up the back yard every day before they leave. the final project is much better than our expectation. I will recommend Golden Valley deck to every body.

We are so happy with our new Trex deck. Ryan and his crew did a great job. Ryan was friendly, informative, provided honest opinions and quotes and importantly, kept us in the loop at all points in the process. Unlike some other companies that I had called before, Ryan showed up on time for all his appointments with us and even when he was running late, called to let us know. Now that's service!

He provided an extremely competitive quote, but what made us choose Golden Valley was the fact that Ryan was honest and reliable from the outset. He took our suggestions and came up with a great design and even offered some of his own tweaks; things we never thought of. In addition, he even honoured our request for privacy as it related to cost as we knew people around our neighbourhood were extremely nosey.

He was honest about the timeline of our deck and surprisingly was ahead of schedule at the end of the project. After the start of the project, we had changed our minds about one aspect of the deck and Ryan was more than happy to accommodate and changed the design accordingly. We now have a beautiful Trex deck my whole family has been enjoying along with a cedar pergola and bench.

I would not hesitate to recommend Ryan and Golden Valley to anyone. Beautiful work, honest and reliable. We've been getting compliments from all our neighbours!

Ryan and his team did an amazing job with our deck. His estimate was very reasonable and most importantly, his work was professional and on time. We were on vacation when he started working on the deck and when we returned in a week, voilà, the deck was completed (and it was perfect!) and everything was cleaned away. I would definitely recommend him.

I needed to replace my 15 year old cedar deck and wanted to go with a composite deck. I had a specific design in mind to match with the surrounding landscaping.
I contacted Ryan and discussed the project which included an outdoor kitchen requiring building cabinets made of composite material and granite countertop to house the outdoor sink and built-in BBQ appliance, stove top and stainless steel doors. The project also included deck and railing post lights and a bench. Ryan was very knowledgeable and provided valuable input and his quote was very reasonable considering the type of work required.
Ryan oversaw the entire project and him and his crew did an excellent job with outstanding workmanship and paying attention to every detail.
The deck turned out to be absolutely beautiful and I love it. I would have no hesitation to recommend Ryan and Golden Valley Decks to anyone looking for their perfect deck.

Was introduced to Golden Valley from a friend's great experience, and decided to give them a call; we're glad we did.

Golden Valley's owner Ryan handled planning, scheduling and construction in a very professional manner, even taking last minute design modifications in stride and always making sure that things were progressing and looking the way we wanted. Always offered honest advice, and not afraid to let us know about any issues he foresaw. Most importantly, he did not promise us an impossible date just to seal the deal, he kept our expectations realistic before signing.

The crew worked efficiently and showed up on time each day and tried to keep the site in a reasonable state (even when the weather forced a stoppage).

In the end, project was completed on time, on budget with excellent workmanship. Would not hesitate to recommend Ryan and his crew.

We wanted to expand our existing deck into a much more complicated, multi-level design. After experiencing deck issues in the past with previous contractors, we wanted to go with a trusted contractor, so we went to Home Depot and were put onto Ryan at Golden Valley Decks.

We gave our design idea to Ryan and he provided us with his recommendation on how to achieve what we wanted. He sat down with us, broke costs down for us (which when we did our own math, was exactly in line with our expectations - nothing hidden).

We were using Trex, and went back and forth a few times with Ryan until we arrived at a look that we were happy with. He never pressured us into doing more than we wanted. He provided a timeline and stuck to it. We asked for some changes along the way, and Ryan accommodated those changes, even though it meant some re-work for his team. The finished product was everything we thought it would be and we were extremely happy with it. There were a couple of items that we wanted to be tweaked just a little. True to his word, Ryan also came back and made those changes for us. This made us feel that we were a valued customer to him, and that if anything were to happen that Ryan would uphold his end of the guarantee that he provided.

I have NO issue recommending Ryan, and a co-worker has already had Golden Valley build a deck for him after my referral. We have received many compliments on the quality of work and how great the deck looks. We were very, very happy with our experience, and if we have to build another deck, I would not hesitate to call Golden Valley decks again.

Our deck exceeded our expectations thanks to Ryan and his skilled carpenters. Ryan gave us a better quality of materials and design. Our whole family is pleased. We would definitely recommend Ryan and his crew.

I chose Golden Valley Decks for 3 reasons.

1. Experience - Ryan and his team have tonnes of deck building experience using a variety of materials, including my choice of material - Ipe. He's also on Home Depot's vendor referral list, which in my view says a lot about his ability to manage projects.

2. Personality - Friendly, open, honest, accommodating (we made a few design changes along the way) and just an all around great guy to work with. This was a big deck (12 days construction), involving a difficult to handle hardwood, a rain diverting system (Trex Rainescapes) and a few other uncommon design items. I'm also a very 'involved' home owner, asking questions throughout the construction process which Ryan always handled with total professionalism.

3. Cost - Ryan is more than reasonable in what he charges. I did my homework, and can say without hesitation that Ryan is the only deck builder I'll ever call again, although given how this deck was built I'm not sure I'll ever need to build another deck, but will certainly and enthusiastically refer Ryan to any family and friends looking to build a deck.

Ryan and his company were very professional throughout the project. He sat down with us and helped lay out the plans. He let us know when the old deck would be removed and when the new material would arrive and when the job would start. We were actually away on vacation while the deck was built and came back to a beautiful new composite deck. Great job Ryan and thanks.
