Kitchen Backsplash and Cabinet Lighting

I was not sure whom to hire for getting a back splash done to my kitchen as well as under cabinet lighting. I was driving by around the area and happened to stumble upon the number.

I took the plunge and gave a call and the owner Ankit had picked up the phone. I told him that I would like to get a back splash done to my kitchen including under cabinet lighting. He said no problem.

The day he showed up for the estimate, he took proper, accurate measurements of the kitchen area, and then showed me a bunch of samples he had brought so I could choose. I decided to go ahead with Viridian brown and he quoted me $1400 for 22 sq feet of tiles and for the under cabinet lighting he quoted me $400 which I felt it was too high for halogen lighting vs LED.

Do note that he does not carry LED lighting which he told me on the day of the estimate and not before. I asked him this question when I had called him and he didn't even answer my question.

I nodded and agreed and on the day of the installation, he showed up with another colleague of his and began to do the work. I had ensured that the area was kept clean for the work to be done.

Overall it took him 1.5 days to finish the work as on the first day he had to attach the titles properly with the glue or whatever and the next day he had to caulk and seal it, plus wait for it to dry. As for installing the under cabinet lighting, they were 4 pieces each having 3 bulbs/fixtures along with the cord to plug it into the wall sockets.

That he did not do a great job of it at all (See pictures attached). He wrapped tape around the wires to hold them in place and did not properly hide the wires under the cabinet, as you can still see them. I feel that was a shoddy job.

I called and told him about it and he said that "it was the best he can do" due to the "space" provided.

Either way, I probably won't recommend him to others due to his quality of work when it came to the lighting installation but the cabinet job was done properly.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,334.00
